5 Major Reasons Why Creationists are Dead Wrong

Young Earth Creationists are dead wrong, no matter how much they would like you to think the contrary. Their misunderstandings of science speak heavily toward their ignorance of the natural world, as well as their reluctance to accept new and revised information. God is and will always be their go-to answer for most questions, but science has refuted (quite effectively) the idea that God created this planet, universe, and inanimate and animate objects less than 10,000 years ago. With index fingers plunged deep into their ear canals, they continue to believe only to maintain their faith in God; standing as a testament to the fact that faith makes you believe and say silly and outlandish things. Not only do they believe their religious beliefs to be true, they’re often vocal about it. Out of all their silly beliefs, these five reasons effectively demonstrate why the Creationist is dead wrong.

1. The Bible isn’t the Word of God

Creationists claim the Bible is the inerrant word of God. This only causes problems for them; Christians on the other side of the fence, however, have an easier time explaining the absurdities found within its binding. I firmly hold the book is nothing but the writings of undereducated men, living in a time when little was known about the world in which they dwelled. Some of the book is poetry, law, and story-telling; but all-in-all it is nothing but man made. History will tell you the same thing. Studying the history of the Bible at an academic level will eviscerate the claim of divine inspiration.

2. A Global Flood Never Happened

Armed with empirical data, scientists have firmly refuted the claim that our planet was once entirely covered in water. Men like Kent Hovind and Walt Brown, who’ve attempted in the past to rationally explain the sudden appearance of millions of gallons of water, find themselves at the mercy of evidence, which they cannot provide. The evidences against their claims are in vast numbers. This evidence can be found in the ground beneath our feet, on the mountain tops, and deep below the ocean’s surface. 3. Humans and Dinosaurs Never Co-Existed

This is simple. Scientific techniques involved with the dating of sediments is approximate enough to conclude humans did not walk side-by-side with dinosaurs; in fact, there’s a 65 million year gap. Creationists believe that the dinosaurs died during the flood and the fossils that we find today demonstrate this. Yet, we do not find a single out-of-place fossil. They’re exactly were we would expect them to be if such a distance of time occurred. When Kent or Eric Hovind find a bunny rabbit in strata shared with a Tyrannosaurus Rex, I may change my tune.

4. The Second Law of Thermodynamics Doesn’t Violate Evolution

This one is fun. When creationists say, “Evolution violates the second law of thermodynamics,” they actually mean to say, “I know absolutely nothing about evolution or the second law of thermodynamics.” The second law of thermodynamics states, “The entropy of an isolated system never decreases, because isolated systems always evolve toward thermodynamic equilibrium, a state with maximum entropy.” They believe that such complex organisms cannot evolve from simple organisms within an isolated system. Insanity at its best, right? Evolution doesn’t demonstrate a growth in complexity (only the passing and changing of genetic material), and our planet isn’t considered an isolated system. It’s as simple as that.

5. Evolution Did Happen

Sorry Ken Ham, we have a book too. It’s called On the Origin of Species by Means of Natural Selection by Charles Darwin. But we deviate from Ham by refusing to claim it as our holy scripture. Yes, Darwin did a grand job of collecting the data he used to support his hypothesis. But since the days of Darwin, scientists have uncovered much more evidence in support of his claim. We have it in the form of fossils, in genetic material, in the bodies of living organisms, and in the viruses and diseases that infect us. It’s much more developed and precise than the “change in kinds” hypothesi spewed from the mouths of Ham and Comfort.

Creationists are wrong; they’ve always been wrong and they’ll continue to be wrong until their childish ideas are put to rest. If you’ve ever conversed with one, or watched a debate, you’ll see they have to resort to changing the definitions of words in order to make their fantastic ideas sound at least some-what plausible. They may even attempt to discredit your abilities to understand evidence and knowledge. Remember this: Evidences against their claims exist, unlike evidence in support of the events that are portrayed in the Bible.
