Blessed

Hello all fellow Heathens! Just a little rant here. Lately I have noticed many people, mainly women, with tattoos that say, "Blessed". This is something that has always bothered me. Not necessarily the tattoo, but the Blessed bullshit. So everything they have is because they are blessed and the poor shmuck who has nothing must be us godless heathens!

Well at least we have knowledge, so I guess we were blessed with something they lack!

I'd rather have the knowledge

I'd rather have the knowledge any day.

With a blessing, I end up cursing, "You got me wet you dumb ass."

My wife and I visited the Ave

My wife and I visited the Ave Maria Grotto the other day. I had never been there before, but I am fascinated by scale model structures of real buildings/places. On the way out, you have to pass through the gift shop section (naturally). We did a bit of looking around at all the different Catholic souvenirs and such. Just for shits and giggles, my wife bought a small bottle of holy water. (She is pretty much Pagan, by the way.) Once back in the car, she took a sip. Oddly enough, it did not cause any discomfort or burning. She must be blessed.

Ave Maria Grotto.

Ave Maria Grotto.

That sounds so familiar. ***goes to Bing it*** (no I do not use google; never have, never shall)

Oh! Yeah! Went there as a kid way back in 1971. Then took my daughters in 1991 (20th anniversary thing). And I love miniatures also. I even had a large spare room where I was actually building a miniature southern New Hanover County where we were living.

Or, it was just plain dihydrogen monoxide?

@Arakish Re: "Or, it was just plain dihydrogen monoxide?"

Well, I have to admit, it very well could have been. The way it works is that they have a variety of empty bottles/containers out on the shelves. You choose your preferred container and take it to the register to pay for it. The lady then goes into another room with the bottle to fill it. Now, I'm not a hundred percent sure (could have been my imagination), but I could almost swear I heard a toilet flush before she came back out with the filled bottle. Sooooo....... *shrugging shoulders*...

LOL. LMAO.

LOL. LMAO.

Here is an idea. Go back, get another sample, have it analyzed. Analysis will cost, but who knows what they will find.

They just might find evidence of, dare I say it, divinity.

@Arakish Re: "They just might find evidence of, dare I say it, divinity."

Hmmm.... Ya know, my Mom and my Granny use to make divinity when I was a kid. I always loved that stuff, as long as they made some without putting pecans in it. Why in the world do you suppose that might be in the holy water???..... Oh.... Wait.....

I have no idea how "blessed"

I have no idea how "blessed" they actually are as they will be spending eternity in hell with the atheists. Hmmm Given the other option perhaps that is a blessing.

Leviticus 19:28, which says,”You shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor tattoo any marks on you: I am the Lord.”

“Women should adorn themselves with . . . modesty.” (1 Timothy 2:9, New American Bible) That principle applies to both women and men. We should respect the feelings of others and not draw undue attention to ourselves." Tattooing is modest in no way at all.

“Present your bodies a sacrifice living, holy, acceptable to God, a sacred service with your power of reason.” (Romans 12:1) So, what are the reasons for tattooing? Obviously it has nothing to do with getting into God's good graces.

In short - get a tattoo - burn in hell.

@Cog Re: Tattoos

Aw, shit. I'm totally screwed. Guess the only hope I have is that maybe Satan still has that restraining order out on me. Hmmmm.... Would that make me blessed?...*scratching head*...

Perhaps the tattooed ladies

Perhaps the tattooed ladies are fans of Brian Blessed, the great British actor (Prince Vultan in "Flash Gordon", Richard IV in "Blackadder"). He claims to have had a boxing match with the Dalai Lama (not sure who won).

So I decided to join a few

So I decided to join a few dating sites recently and am confused how they always seem to match me with christian women who are blessed and demand that I must be god fearing!

I have not found many atheists or agnostics at any of them. I must be cursed! lol

That is because most good

That is because most good atheists are also too intelligent to join a dating site? Just saying.

Are you implying I am not that intelligent? I am smart enough to be offended at your remarks.

Sorry. That is not what I

Sorry. That is not what I meant to imply. I can see how it could have been interpreted that way. I apologize and am sorry.

Perhaps not clarified good enough I guess. Maybe it is because atheists are too intelligent to broadcast their atheism on a dating site. Even today us atheist are still trusted less than a rapist. Most dating sites, from when I viewed them during their "free" weekend things seemed to be populated by only religious persons.

Even I did join one, I think it was match.com, and got matched with nothing but Christians, even though I had chosen "no religion" or the equivalent. I also tried that "harmony" site I think it is called. I know there was another where I never finished the profile because it did NOT have any choices but some religious choice. It did not have a "no religion" or other where you could enter atheist. That is why I have never joined others. Nor do I look at them anymore. It seems to me dating sites are set up by theists for theists. Maybe we should get together and put up an atheist dating site? I don't even think there is one.

Of course, I do not have enough internet programming knowledge to do such a thing. But it might be nice to find some who could and see what happens.

Again. Sorry for the implication.

No problem arakish. I see

No problem arakish. I see what you meant and also agree with the fact that they are mainly for theists. Thanks for clarifying my friend.

Save your money and take a

Save your money and take a trip to Thailand, The Philippines, Cambodia, Uzbekistan . In one week you will meet hundreds of loving and available girls. From there you simply have to sponsor them to come and visit you in the states. Never send anyone money. If you send airplane tickets make sure they are non-refundable. There are thousands of online scams.

Badoo is an excellent site and so is Friend Finder. Cupid seems to be popular but I have no experience with that. I met my last girlfriend of 5 years on Badoo. (A Philippine site). Craig's list is full of scammers and prostitutes I would avoid it for anything but entertainment in browsing. (I would not contact anyone using it.) Paying for a one month membership will also give you some privileges that will assist you in weeding out those unfavorable. A month is enough as the influx of new members is generally so slow you would have to wait 6 months just to see a few dozen new faces in the browser.

There are atheist dating sites. https://www.yourtravelmates.com/people/#afid=1355140818&subafid=adid_289...|kwd_atheist%20dating|plc_g|pos_1t1|geo_1009880|type_e

LOL - You are still one of the good guys around here. It is often the case that what we write is not adequately transmitted to the reader. Without knowing our personalities and actually seeing us, it is easy to misunderstand that which we write. If you really want people to know you for the vicious bastard you are, you will have to stop saying things like "I didn't mean that."
