can someone give me a source of quotes that.....

will help me in an argument with a theist? I have read many bible verses that shun or demean women, tell readers to kill non believers ,show complete disregard for non believers or even believers but not of the same religion. I should have been taking notes, but I haven't now I am wanting to compile a list of verses that are contradictory to what is considered moral among anyone, theist or atheist. I just want someone to tell me where to look other than saying "go read your bible". I've read it a lot throughout my life and knew it wasn't holding any value to me then, so, I didn't commit any verses to memory.

Any and all will be appreciated.

Google "evil bible verses" or

Google "evil bible verses" or "sexist, racist, genocidal, and rapey bible verses" or "bible verses christians wish didn't exist" or anything like that and you will get hundreds of hits. It's a good idea to actually have a bible and know what version it is (NIV or King James are both popular) for when you want to talk about it with believers. Or you could just ignore everyone who believes messed up stuff and go on to live a happy life. If you do choose to fight the good fight, good luck to you.

chimp3 - Read the bible yourself. Use a highlighter.

When I was in the Army (and the bible was about the only thing I was allowed to read), I did exactly that. I still have that copy. My wife calls it that gross yellow book (yellow highlighter) .

Absolutely agree. Best way. I

Absolutely agree. Best way. I have the Thompson's Chain Reference with red lettering for Jesus' actual words. Worth every penny.

I have and I did and I

I have and I did and I underlined everything that I liked and everything that I did not. However I was in the Army at the time and I lost most of my things to hurricane Isabell in 2004 while living in Norfolk Virginia at a place called Willoughby Spit. A little section of land probably about a mile long and about 100 yards wide jutting out into Chesapeake bay. It didn't exist until the 19th century when another unnamed hurricane blew it into existence. It took my bible and my poetry and many many books and memories with it.

“Man is a marvelous curiosity

“Man is a marvelous curiosity. When he is at his very very best he is a sort of low grade nickel-plated angel; at his worst he is unspeakable, unimaginable; and first and last and all the time he is a sarcasm. Yet he blandly and in all sincerity calls himself the "noblest work of God.”
― Mark Twain, Letters from the Earth: Uncensored Writings

“After a long time and many questions, Satan said, "The spider kills the fly, and eats it; the bird kills the spider and eats it; the wildcat kills the goose; the -- well, they all kill each other. It is murder all along the line. Here are countless multitudes of creatures, and they all kill, kill, kill, they are all murderers. And they are not to blame, Divine One?”

Who cares what it says in the

Who cares what it says in the bible also known as the book of multiple choice. Example: In Exodus jews were told how to enslave other humans and that they could beat their slaves as long as the slaves did not die in a couple of days AND the bible say to love thy neighbor. Multiple choice.

By the way, the bible gets a couple of things right. I am currently trying not to covet my neighbor's ass... but it is a really nice ass :)
