I don't think Jesus dying on the cross is a good example of love

A lot of christians said that Jesus dying on the cross shows how kind and good god is. I find it a bit barbaric. If you made me angry and you want me to forgive you and I said bring me the blood of both your parents and I'll love you. Jesus was pretty rude. If you walk into a church and flip the tables and whip people you are asking for trouble. Also virgin in those days means someone who doesn't have a child so technically all firstborns are virgin births.

Hmm... what ever could you

Hmm... what ever could you mean?

Bad as in...
...giving humans original sin, so your child would have to be sacraficed?
...killing your own child so that people will worship you?
...building a religion around a human sacrafice?
...pretending to be sacraficed, then ascend to heaven?

How could any of that possibly be bad?
(Yes... I'm being sarcastic :)

"I don't think Jesus dying on the cross is a good example of love"
It is not
"I find it a bit barbaric."
It is.

It is a concept that brainwashed people perceive as scapegoating.
A human sacrifice is needed for some invented reason called 'release from sin'.

It is a mental disorder, it tries to make people confused about themselves.
It tries to take the responsibilities of one's actions from the person, to put it on a scapegoat.
As if such a thing is even possible.
One can take the punishment from you, but if you did something wrong you have to to live with it anyway.

"Also virgin in those days means someone who doesn't have a child so technically all firstborns are virgin births."
No, virgin in those days meant the same as nowadays and NO, firstborns are not virgin births.

I had a little cross with a crucified human being on the top of my bed for many years.
It really gives the impression that it is OK to have human crucified although it didn't bother me that much because when you are a kid your parents are always right.

When I grew up, it started to disgust me, to the point that a banned it from my room.
My mom was pissed but I wasn't gonna budge on that one especially because she hates discussing religion :)

The truth hurts :)

Modern Christians might be

Modern Christians might be shocked to realize that Christianity (like Judaism from which it stemmed) is a blood cult. It is evidenced in the Christian and Judaic holy books, where people were always sacrificing animals to their god. Christian hymns ask "Are you washed in the blood of the Lamb?", not unlike the blood showers of the ancient Romans. And in Christian Communion, you are drinking, at least symbolically, the blood of Jesus. Human sacrifice is hallmark of a blood cult. The Israelites sacrificed many of their conquered enemies. Jesus was just another human sacrifice, but with a twist: he sacificed himself, if you beleive the stories, so that there wouldn't have to be any more blood sacrifices for the redemption of sin. In modern Christianity, the blood is all symbolic, but it is still there. It's the shed blood of Jesus Christ that supposedly saves you, and the belief that he was sacrificed for your sins. It's all quite morbid.

I never understood this whole

I never understood this whole "sacrifice on the cross" thing.
What sacrifice? After 3 days he got better and went home to live with his dad! More of a minor inconvenience than a sacrifice.

Good point. The other thought

Good point. The other thought associated with this whole sacrificial show is.

1. Thou shalt not kill.
2. So, god not only breaks his own commandment, he does so by killing his own kid.

Niiiiccccce. And today, kiddies, the moral of our story is?

Great video Jeff, the logic

Great video Jeff, the logic behind these biblical fairy tales is ridiculous. It is alarming so many people are deluded over these stories.

Yep, it is alarming indeed,

Yep, it is alarming indeed, in fact I was holing back to include that to be converted to Christianity one must have some serious issues. :)
