I so hope Bernie wins

I am not American but I have been googling all the presidential candidates and have found out that Hillary Clinton thinks religion has a useful role and does not support church/state separation nearly as much as Bernie Sanders. She is a democrat and pro-choice so she is probably not that religious but she seems to be way more supportive of religion than Bernie

Bernie i think is a closet

Bernie i think is a closet agnostic/atheist, most politicians cant get votes without an "in god we trust" im the USA. Bernie is getting alot of younger voters for that reason i believe. I would vote for bernie but im only 16. Bernie is a pretty secular guy and understands the problems we face wont be fixed by praying, but working.

Hi I am new to the site

Hi I am new to the site (first post). I do support Bernie and have attended his rallies. When I hear a presidential candidate use the words god, the lord, Jesus, blessed, ect….well I am astounded, these people are highly educated. So I have a choice this insane person or that insane person. These are the people that control the most destructive force in the history of mankind. Consider that their end game is mutual destruction and off we go to the afterlife (please correct me if that’s not the case) and they all have a track record. They really believe god is on our side, just pray. It is my hope and dream to see admitted atheists in politics and public office. There should be no place in our government for such destructive nonsense. Even the so called moderates provide justification and sometimes even support the so called Radicals.

I don't live in the US but,

Welcome to the forum.

I don't live in the US but, as I have expressed before, the US and it's politics has an effect way beyond their borders. Allied countries should be able to vote as well.

I would be amazed and ecstatic if Bernie wins. But what is really important is that none of the Christian right nutcases or Trump wins. If Hillary wins, I'll still be happy about it.

The republicans are all right

The republicans are all right wing christian nut cases. If they are elected we will be right back where we were 8 years ago.

Your generalization spotlights your ignorance.
I've been an atheist all of my life. I am definitely Conservative, I've only voted for one democrat. Other than that it's been all Republicans and Libertarians. I don't vote for or against a person because of their party, race, gender, faith or lack thereof or any other of the divisive social issues. I vote for people who will be best for the country and Bernie isn't one of them. Neither was the Muslim in Chief.

Might I suggest that you enlighten us, instead of just stating "ignorance" and saying "Bernie isn't one of them"?
Who then? And for what reasons?

Is there even one among the GOP that acknowledges evolution? Anyone who will keep creationism out of the schools? Is there anyone of them who would support separation of church and state? Anyone who would not participate in giving Christians special rights? Anyone who will not reverse the gay marriage rights? Anyone who will not keep sucking up to corporate America? I can't see what the hidden secret is that makes it worth voting for anyone conservative.

As I understand it, there's a

As I understand it, there's a lot of closig atheists among American politicians. Bernie seems by far the most likely candidate left in the race. He seems like a nice guy with visions that truely could transform the US to the great country we all want. And a lot of Atheists endors him. Will he be president though? Can he convince independents to vote for him?

We live in a very dangerous world right now. I don't want to wake up and find that the three most powerful forces in the world are led by Putin (kommunist/expansionist), Le Penn (nazi/racist) and Trump (holy crusader?)... And I havent even mentioned China, North Korea orISIS). The only worse scenario I can think of is Sarah Palin as Vice President...

That said, I still hope he'll make it (Bernie that is). So please convince me my nightmares are just nightmares!

I don’t see any difference of muslim in chief from christian in chief. But why in the debate was every answer start with Obama, he is out of there get over it already. I am tired of all this BS about Obama. You say crap like calling him a muslim cause that’s all you got.

Obama is not a Muslim, and

Obama is not a Muslim, and even if he was he would be only by name.

All politicians are not truly religious, they just need to appear so for the votes.
Like they all want to appear innocent and fit to rule, when all of them know that they have little say in the matter, even after they get elected.

The people who fund their political campaign are the ones who make the choices and rule the country, the president is just a patsy in case something goes horribly wrong.
He has 5 years of rule for that reason, one man can only handle 5 years of blame without retaliation from the public when things go horrible wrong.

5 years are barely enough to implement a new legislation and make it fully functional, not even enough to reap it's benefits.

If you thought the 5 years were for giving people a choice, you need to think it over.

Your only choice is between the color of the collar they put around your neck.

There's a lot of aspects to

There's a lot of aspects to this, not just the religious one. As such I need to consider more than whether the person believes in God or not (Kim Jong-un doesn't appear believe, but he'd not get my vote).

Bernie's good point is that he is exposing Hillary as the party machine product that she is. The Democratic party had pretty much anointed her, and old Bernie threw a big wrench into the process. Love it! And with Paul out, Bernie's the only one with anti-war cred.

But unfortunately he's wedded to fairy tale economics which will only bleed the country deeper into economic disaster. (The other day I was chatting with my ex-wife (a Jewish atheist) catching up after being out of contact for several months. We had both independently came to similar conclusions that Bernie might be safe because there was little chance he could successfully implement many of those ideas).

But the bottom line is that there are NO credible candidates. None.
