The only time my wife and I went to the Philippines was to watch Pinatubo blow up. Hell of a reason to visit somewhere huh?
But what can you expect from someone who has always been fascinated by volcanoes. (And wishes for nothing more than to be in Hawai'i right next to and watching/filming Fissure 8. Damn, they just won't let me go.)

when was that arak? the pinatubo blew up?
from what i can remember, it was 1991 right?
that was 27 years ago...hahah
Yep, June 12, 1991. We arrived there on June 8. Did not leave until the 17th. We were in Manila. Even I ain't that crazy to get that close to an explosive ryolitic volcano.
Addenda: Was that before you were born?

HBD to me!!!
going Three - Oh
Mine was on the 14th. July 20th! That is the 49th anniversary of Neil Armstrong's Small Step Giant Leap thing. How cool is that?
Yes, been an atheist my whole life. Me mom used the Bible to teach me to read at 3 years old. Didn't like it then. Hated it when forced to attend church from 6 to 13. It just did not make sense to me. At 5, she gave me Childhood's End by Sir Arthur C. Clarke and understand it way better than the Bible. I guess even at that young age, I unconsciously realized the errancy and incoherence of the Bible.
Ooohh!! That was you that went tearing ass past me in your undies? Well, I'll be damned. Hey! You owe me a wallet... ;-P
