My reaction to Same Sex marriage legalized in the U.S.A

So, with the Christian's backlash of same sex marriage being "OH, THE CHILDREN, THEY WILL BE SCARRED!" Well, considering I, at my age, *am* a child, here's my reaction.

In short: same sex marriage is not a big deal. I'm actually happy for them. I shouldn't even be calling it same sex marriage, it's just marriage for crying out loud!

The reason I use nukes as my first thought as to what we did to be "immoral" is to show what really WOULD be immoral. The aliens? Well, considering the U.S, we might have nuked THEM.

It's about time that gay

It's about time that gay couples were given the right to be just as miserable as us heterosexual couples!

I mean... I'm happily married. Yeah, that's the ticket >_>

Honestly, I think it's great! Hopefully the people that hate it will flee the country, and we will have fewer theists here!

I agree.

I agree.

Don't tell all those twitter users that are claiming "it's time to move to Canada" that it has been legal there for a decade already... :)

Honestly, a lot more of the greater World Powers are legalizing Same Sex Marriage. The only places they could go would be Africa or the Middle East.. Hey, maybe *then* they'll see what's really "immoral" in this world: religion.

Well, now the world is

Well, now the world is probably doomed again... in Alabama:

"A federal judge has issued an order directed at all probate judges in the state — who are responsible for issuing marriage licenses — that they can no longer decline to issue licenses to gay couples. "

And this is where religion

And this is where religion makes absolutely no sense. If a theist is so positively disturbed by two people of the same gender wanting to be together as an accepted couple, that they will violate the law by not issuing marriage licenses, then not only do they need to understand they are just making matters worse BUT they also should resign their position because their religious views are in direct opposition of their job. The United States has a separation between church and state for this reason specifically and if he continues to hold office then he is in contravention of what the constitution stands for. So rather than argue and fight over the law he needs to resign his position and go without a meal for a minute.

What the heck is wrong with

What the heck is wrong with Religious Republicans!? Are they really that desperate to find a way to take down same sex marriage? This country... Sometimes I just want to move to the U.K, you don't see this happening over there!

Hi Austin,

Hi Austin,

It is all about power and that they are losing it.

Predominantly white, male dominated conservative Christian Republicans see their historical power being assaulted by decreased religious observance in the young, the empowerment of women, minorities and the LGBT community, changing demographics to the point where the combined minorities will soon outnumber whites, a black president Barak Obama with a non-traditional name, the War on Christmas, etc. etc.

Whenever an established group loses power, a lot of heat, light and sound is produced.

Exactly.

Exactly.
It's greed for money and power (and lack of empathy for others).

Even though I don't live in the US I follow a lot of what is happening, since the US influences a lot of the rest of the world, not just through military power and politics but also by culture through the movie industry and TV, etc.

It's so obvious how most religious republicans are making decisions that favor those who already are rich and powerful. Which makes it sooo ironic when you know Jesus is supposed to have preached that it's extremely hard for rich people to go to heaven.

They're religious Republicans

They're religious Republicans, that's what is wrong with them! :D

Stay strong man, eventually things will get better here, people cannot cling to irrationality forever!
