Nobody uses their actual photo here ?

I just added mine. Being a photographer, I could have easily added a photo by me, instead of adding one "of me"....

And maybe I will end up switching it later. I understand the stigma of being labeled an atheist. But anyway, your thoughts ???

Damn, dude! I feel like I just got a ticket to the Guns Show. How many hours you spend in the gym each day? lol

Personally, I'm just camera shy. Besides, no need for me to scare folks away from my posts with my pic. *snicker*

the AR autoposted my facebook pic, against my wishes, but it took me 2 weeks to figure out how to remove it.
I live in New England, I can't have people finding me- Not to mention it scares TM to see my three heads.

Well for a 53 yo old man, right ?

Honestly, I hurt my back a couple years ago (right after I took that pic) which kind of set me back, but I'm getting back at it now. I'm hoping (with muscle memory) that it won't be as hard to get back, as it was to get there :-)

8 years ago, and for the 20+ years leading up to it, I was in terrible shape.... 300 lbs, BP and cholesterol through the roof, etc, then all at once, flipped everything, and became a fitness freak.

Outstanding, dude! My hat is off to you. Hope the back problem doesn't slow you down too much. I definitely know how bad back injuries can hamper one's life. Power on, man!

Tin-man: "I may need to watch it."

It's one of the funniest TV series ever made IMHO. Kryten the butler robot has a "groinal attachment" which accepts a vacuum cleaner hose, food mixer, and various other household appliances.

Oh yes Tin-man, you need to

Oh yes Tin-man, you need to watch it. Kryten is the best character but they are all pretty funny.
I love British comedy with a few exceptions.
1) They are complete and thought out. There is usually nothing "cheap" about their humor. Even though Monty Python was very base and slapstick you had to know history for many of the jokes.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ienp4J3pW7U
2) American humor has become a victim game and not even funny. It's all about people crashing into things or doing stupid things that injure themselves or others.
I hate all the Lloyd and Croft comedies though. They are just corny. 'Are You Being Served', 'To the Manor Born', 'Open All Hours'! Stupid and redundant.

@Myk

Oddly enough, I actually liked "Are You Being Served". (They always lost me on the currency jokes, though. Never could relate to pounds or shillings.) "The Benny Hill Show" was always a favorite. One of my uncles started me on it when I was only 12 or 13. Crude and naughty. It was awesome! LOL And, yeah, Monty Python is a given. What's not to like about those guys?

algebe's picture
@Mykcob4: American humor has

@Mykcob4: American humor has become a victim game and not even funny.

There are some exceptions. "Frasier" provided some great satirical humor targeting snobbery, family tensions, and urban life. The real star was the dog. "Barney Miller" was also good.

In my opinion, the best British comedy ever is "One Foot in the Grave", which is about a very angry retiree. The theme song was written and performed by Eric Idle from Monty Python. Another classic is "Dad's Army." If you like laughing at religion, try "All Gas and Gaiters", which was a 60s sitcom lampooning the indolent and useless lives led by senior Church of England clerics.

I think “Father Ted” should be included in the Best British Comedies category.

Father Ted is my absolute

Father Ted is my absolute favorite and Rev comes in a close second. Lately, I am into the IT Crowd, and Moone Boy probably because I like Chris O'Dowd and my grandparents were born and raised in Belfast.
I use to obsess about The Young Ones...fucking CRAZY!

@mykcob4: "The Young Ones...fucking CRAZY!"

Do Americans get all the references to Cliff Richard in that series?

The best Young Ones scene IMHO is Vivian with his head out of the window on Sunday morning screaming for the church bells to shut up.
