Is satan more righteous than god?

Even if god is real, how can we be sure that satan isn't the good guy and god is not trying to brainwash and enslave humanity with his scripture(s)?

Given that satan hasn't written any books and god is the one who apparently gave us books that are trash-talking satan, it shouldn't be difficult to figure out who is seated at the righteous end of the moral spectrum. And satan hasn't responded to god's petty arguments and gossip behind his back with any scripture, has he? So isn't satan being the bigger and magnanimous entity here?

Also, if we delve deep into the stories of the origins of god and satan in the fairytales or scriptures we have, according to the accepted accounts by Jews, Christians, Muslims etc., satan i.e. lucifer, was god's best friend and confidant until he had an opinion that was contrary to god's. Some friend god turns out to be - disfigures him and sets him on fire for all time. What do you think of that move? Godly?

Now if you look at the original Sumerian myth on which the old testaments, Bible, Qur'an are all based, there is a good god and a bad god. The bad god wanted to keep humans as slaves forever and the good god wanted to share knowledge and promote development of human society.

When reading scripture(s), it is quite evident that the abrahamic god, in the pursuit of enslaving humans, has killed millions of people, and at one point he even killed everyone on earth and spared just a handfull of people on a boat. I know this is an illogical and unbelievable story, but for the sake of argument, please go along with the abrahamic folks who are anywhere in the hundreds of millions to about 5 billion people who actually believe this word for word. And satan? How many has he killed? Satan has killed about ten people according to god's own book(s), and most of them were over a bet with god.

God has written laws against murder, torture, and slavery, however, as if to contradict himself like a modern day politician, god himself has seen fit to murder, torture, be homophobic and enslave countless helpless humans himself or condone it to be done by others, under his authority. Nowhere in gods own book(s) does satan himself claim the authority or will to subjugate or punish anyone. God demands to be constantly worshiped and praised for letting you live or his gift of eternal torture in hell fire (apparently outsourced to his arch nemesis satan) shall be your's. While according to god's own book, even satan himself has made no such statements. What is noteworthy is that when the will of satan is spoken of, it is the followers of god who makes these ill claims of satan.

It's really not hard to see who the good guy is between satan and god. Is it?

Yes, finally someone who

Yes, finally someone who understand me.
But, when i was catholic and making lessons of Bible in my college, I ask for a nun why satan is considered bad, because he killed fewer people than God.
She called my parents.

Equivalent question: Is the

Equivalent question: Is the blue-spotted pink unicorn more righteous than the pink-spotted blue unicorn?

That depends upon how many

That depends upon how many purple cloud puppies it cuddled.

If hundreds of millions to a

If hundreds of millions to a few billion people claim the imaginary pink spotted one is more righteous, then I'd like to make a case for the other imaginary option too :)

Well I have a personal relationship with the pink-spotted blue unicorn, so your going to burn in hell. You just have to accept it on faith! :P

It was one of my primary triggers, being raised Christian which cast a lot of doubt on the whole regards. Unfortunately it only came apparent to me when I just decided I would treat God as bad for one day, and while playing the devil's advocate (trying to be a cheeky child to bother my mother) realized that stuff made a lot more sense. Reverted right back to being a religious kid for a couple more years until I went to church school, which ironically burst the entire religious bubble for me in a matter of 2 years flat.

I'm a newbie here and going to like it.

What a great fun twist to toss about at appropriate gatherings.

I've found, as an avowed skeptic, that starting a discussion with a "Bible is myth...." intro instantly closes potential curious potential freethinking minds.

I'll use your hypothesis.
"Is God and Lucifer were once buddies how do we know......"

Love it!!

Satan is like Prometheus,

Satan is like Prometheus, helping humanity reach beyond Yahweh's arbitrary restrictions. But remember Job and how Satan tricks the gullible Yahweh into afflicting Job with boils. And all Yahweh can do in the end is yell at poor Job, lol. Sometimes Satan helps us and sometimes not. Kind of like Loki. Mythology is fun!

I agree, not only does Satan

I agree, not only does Satan come of as less of a D-bag but if you watch Xtian movies many times you end up sympathizing with the bad guy more than you do their main characters.

Aye I've always thought that

Aye I've always thought that satan was a much more interesting and sympathetic fictional character than god plus he's a man of wealth and taste :) there's a novel called I, Lucifer by Glenn Duncan the sub title reads "finally the other side of the story" its a good read.

Since neither exist, I would say no. However, were he real, I'd rather drink a beer with Satan.

Although I'm "atheist" in a

Although I'm "atheist" in a way, I'd have to say that this is a very justified argument against pretty much any Christian claim out there. I actually converted to Satanism about a month ago but then I just kind of stopped being religious at all without thinking about it so I'm at a neutral here. I do, however, have a very strong bias against pretty much every Christian out there except for a few of my close Christian friends. It's when they're forcefully trying to make you believe that I can't stand it. Nobody has ever really bothered me about my atheism/satanism or whatever so yea.
