Why are you getting so agitated?

It all started while I was having coffee with my christian sister at her house today. Out of the blue, she started engaging me in a conversation about how much she loves god and how true the bible really is... I realized at that moment she was worried my religious views had changed. Well, I knew this day was coming. She finally realized my whole outlook on life has changed recently, and since I'm not going to church or anything, something must be going on with me. She asked me point blank, "do you still believe in god?" I looked at her and said "no". She immediately got agitated and animated as she told me the reasons why she believes in god and that by rejecting him I was going to hell. I said sis, I have left christianity and I am now an atheist, and if you want to know why I made that decision I'll tell you some of the reasons. She was willing to listen to what I had to say, so I told her to think about how many religions there are in the world today, and the fact that each one thinks their beliefs are right and everyone else's are wrong. Who's right and who's wrong?, I asked her. What makes you think that your religion is the right one? I told her that people of some religions will kill over their beliefs because they think their just as right as you are. I said, thats just one of the problems with religion! She was getting more and more agitated by the moment even though I was talking to her very calmly myself. I knew where the frustration was coming from - her biblical faith and christian foundation was being challenged by what I was telling her. I finally asked her, why are you getting so agitated? She said, because I know God and his word are real and no ones going to change my mind about it! I looked at her and just said, I love you sis. I could tell she was done talking to me about the subject. I left and came home hoping I had at least planted a seed of reasoning in her mind. Its amazing how people will continue to believe in something that is not real rather than allow their whole belief system to fall apart.
