why does any theist think that by poking holes in evolution or the Big Bang justify their belief in a god.??? Your claims will rise or fall on their own merit independent of outside claims. This is where I find it almost humorous... if tomorrow evolution was proven to have no truth how would this make the claim that a god did it any more true? Not all atheists believe that same thing.
I want to get to the core understanding of what an atheist is.
Question: does god exist?
Theist: yes I believe he does!
Atheist: I do not agree with above answer! I do not know.
This is why the burden of proof falls onto theists.
What evidence is there that god exists?
Now as I have stated in the past once you define that god and claim what he has done, now we can get into;
Christian- the god of the Bible is real
Atheist- no he is not
This is when we can both lay out evidence because there is a claim and it is testable. The word problems and the argument from ignorance fallacies hold no value in this.
Example:
God flooded the entire earth and killed all people except for one family...
Christian's yes that is true
Atheists no this is false!
Let's now debate with evidence and figure out what the actual truth is.
Faith is bullshit because once you define your god you are in direct conflict with another that defines his/her god differently.
Both can claim faith yet neither are closer to truth.
Theists please define what god you believe in... now if we are talking god with no definition the only answer on both side is I do not know.

You wrote: "Christian- the god of the Bible is real. Atheist- no he is not"
IMO, this answer is incorrect.. the typical atheist's response is not the one listed above. The acceptable response is; Prove It
I do not agree
I am trying to differentiate between an open answer of god exists with the claim of a defined god. Now I fully respect that I can only speak for myself when it comes to my atheism, as stated not all atheists believe or think the same way. To me once you define god and give claims ( bible ) now we can disprove your claims.
But I do feel I could have worded my post differently, hopefully this clears things up
@MCD
So, what you're saying is that the atheist view-point is that the existence of gods is not proven? Is that correct?
No comment.
Really you of all people with nothing to say??? Are you ok? Do you need a hug
Thank goodness for that! Hi, Breezy. How you doing?
Better every day.
Glad to hear it.
