Then by definition you're not

Then by definition you're not a real atheist because you use faith to determine things. You have faith that I'm a sock puppet troll.

TheBlindWatchmaker's picture
Not a true Scotsman fallacy.

That smells a lot like a no true Scotsman fallacy.

Furthermore, that would be the incorrect use of the word faith, as by definition it is the complete trust or confidence in someone or something.

It is not required to have a theological bent.

You can have faith in anything and still be Atheist.

Notice that I said ''real atheist'', which is a real thing; which by definition does not have faith in anything (or so he/she thinks). I was one; so don't try to twist this one around.

Tin-man's methodology of determining whether or not I'm a sock puppet troll is very obviously flawed and requires faith, which directly disqualifies him as any serious atheist debater.

Quite simply that is just a rock solid fallacy.

Nope. A person identified as atheist may have faith in things...just not any gods.

ROFLMAO... Oh, you poor little child. It appears you have poo-pooed in your undies. Tsk-tsk... (Although, in all fairness, if I keep laughing like this much more I may have to invest in a package of adult diapers myself.) LMAO...

I am just pointing out the hypocrisy of your actions. I do not have to ridicule, insult, or embarrass you. You are undermining your position and any respect (you expect) all by yourself.

But if you feel you must stoop to the lowest depths of conduct, feel free to insult me, I can not be offended since the source is not worthy of respect.

Whatever pole or wall you

Whatever pole or wall you walked into and knocked you into loopy land, go find it and try to re-create the knock on the noggin. Hopefully the second knock will undo the damage from the first. Your brain is broken.

I just pointed it out.

Again, a bunch of baseless

@JazzTheist Again, a bunch of baseless "what-if"s with sciency stuff thrown in there to make it seem more sound than it actually is. Is it at all possible for you to substantiate your assertion about the DNA with demonstratable, authentic evidence? Because I'm studying biology, and as far as I know, the only four letters are A, T, G, and C. Doesn't look like it could fit an unambiguous divine message... oh, wait... I've just realized that this whole thing is just another one of your childlike "what-if" strawman fantasies of one day being able to demonstrate the existence of your invisible friend in a verifiable and authentic manner... you Christians do this all the time... LOL... how about providing us with some real, literal evidence instead of baseless hypotheticals and passive-aggressive strawmen dressed up as real scientific knowledge?

Mr. Jazz is actually our long-list atheist friend formerly known as Squidward. Please see the "Deleted" thread in the Debate area.... (Yes, really, it is titled "Deleted".)

What happened, Squidward? You get kicked in the noggin by a mule or something?

Awww... What's wrong, ol' buddy? You don't want to be a part of our cozy little family anymore? I have to admit, though, it is mighty nice of you take the time out of your busy schedule to come back here in an attempt to save all us godless heathens from ourselves. Your new found enlightenment is most inspiring, for sure.... *grin*...

Edit to add: Oh, almost forgot... How do you presume to know anything at all about my "world view"? Arrogance much?

DAMMIT TIN MAN - What in the hell are you doing getting familiar with JazzyTheist. And why are you calling him squid. He does not like it. You are not helping this young man's self esteem at all. * (Shhhhh! I have to say stuff like that to bolster his ego. He knows I have been seeing his mother.)

Honey Jazzy, you don't let the mean TinCanMan push you around. You are right and you know it. That is all that matters. You are always correct and you don't have to prove anything to anyone. Remember we love you.

Hey, just out of curiosity, do you two draw straws to see who gets to change little Jazzy's diapers? Or do you do Rock/Paper/Scissors? Must be a full time job with all the poopie he has been spewing. *chuckle*... Just so you know, though, I think the little scamp is adorable.

I now see why you and

I now see why you and Cognistics are considered some of the ''heavy hitters'' of this site. You belittle, despise and insult anyone who issues a challenge; and as a result, you may scare the challenger away and con fellow atheists into cheering for you. Killing two birds with one stone without even having to debate at all. Brilliant. Cult-building at best.

But hereby I saith unto you: I shall not leave; for your tactics don't work for me. I shall frequently debate on this site, regardless of hostility; as long as this site still has a section labeled as ''debate room''.

Soooo.... I'm guessing you are using the term "debate" rather loosely?... *chuckle*... Hey, whatever floats your little sailboat, dude. lol

And, goodness gracious, why on Earth would we ever want you to leave? Cheap entertainment is hard to find nowadays. So, please, hang around as long as you like... *grin*

Re: "I now see why you and Cognistics are considered some of the ''heavy hitters'' of this site."

.... *blushing*.... Awwww, shucks! That's such a sweet thing to say.... *looking back over shoulder*.... Hey! Cog! Did you know we are "heavy hitters"?.... *turning back*... Gosh! I've never been one of those before. I'm afraid I'm not really deserving of the title, though. I know several other members on here who are far more intelligent and knowledgeable than I am. They should be titled the heavy hitters. I'm really not much more than the comic relief when dealing with guys like you.... *smile*... *thinking*..... Hmmmm.... However... Does having the title of "Heavy Hitter" include getting a check, by any chance? Because if I can get paid for being a heavy hitter, then - hey - I'm your guy!

arakish's picture

Tin-Man: "I'm really not much more than the comic relief when dealing with guys like you"

In my book, that is what makes you the heavy hitter. Persons like me just soften them up with a single here and there, then you come to the plate and smack a home run.

Tin-Man: "Does having the title of "Heavy Hitter" include getting a check, by any chance? Because if I can get paid for being a heavy hitter, then - hey - I'm your guy!"

Sorry. No paycheck. Strictly voluntary.

I believe if I recall correctly, you say you are from Thailand? How is your written english so good (you seem like your better than average US theist citizen in writing skills), yet you get some major grammatical/spelling errors all the time?

Why not use a spellchecker?

Anyways, it is "sayeth" if you are trying to be: "archaic" wordy like many english bible translations like to use. One would think if you read the english bible translations and other christian literature, you would be very familiar with the spelling of that word.

You are on the internet typing away, you can't spend 2 seconds opening a new tab and checking a word spelling/definition in google?

Odd to me, /shrug.

There are many English versions, including some written in modern standard English. However, they're all translations of translations, including the King James version, and I'm sure you know what that means for accuracy.
