This is a four-post series to help with the confusion that may arise as to:
Images will be attached to each post as I go through this. Just so no one can cry "foul," I used screen captures of my profile. I am doing this in four posts because I have never tested whether more than one image can be attached to one post. And I don't feel like trying even now.
The main answer to the PMs quandary may be that your User Name and Screen Name may not be the same.
Here at Atheist Republic (AR), they have two different "avatar" names. Your User Name is what you use to login to AR. Your Screen Name is what is displayed when you create a post or new thread.

I shall be the first to admit I did not realize this difference when I first created an account. I actually missed the first two PMs that were sent to me because of this faux pas.
In the attached image, I have highlighted what my first User Name (blue) was and my Screen Name (red).
At that time, if a person wanted to send me a PM, they would have to have addressed to "Arakish Giedieri".
If wondering, it is prounounced: R-uh-kish; gay-dare-ee.
