Churches and religious institutions in the United States enjoy the benefits of being a charity and not paying taxes, but they get even more lax benefits as they are not allowed to be audited by just any IRS official, they do not have to make their spending public and they have to do very little to nothing to prove they offer any service to the public whatsoever.
