Howdy! Welcome to our little den of (in)sanity. Nice having you with us. If you have just recently kicked the habit of your religious indoctrination, I'm guessing you may have a few questions and concerns you would like to voice. If so, then you are in luck, because this is the perfect place for doing so. (And I say that based on personal experience.) Plenty of good folks here with vast pools of knowledge. So hop on in and start splashing around. Oh, and arm floaties are optional, but highly recommended... *grin*...

I managed to kick it early this year and have been devouring content from various youtubers which really helped me to know there were others out there in the same boat.
Arm floaties will be appreciated, never been the strongest of swimmers lol

Oh, wow. You really are a newbie... *chuckle*... No worries, though. I actually didn't escape until a little over a year and a half ago. And, yeah, I was watching anything and everything I could find relating to atheism. But the absolute BEST decision I made was joining this site. Sure, YouTube vids are great, but you cannot interact with a video. Here in the AR, on the other hand, you can ask questions, express your thoughts, or just vent frustrations and you will always get some sort of feedback from many different perspectives. Just within the first three or four months after I became a member I had already learned more things about the bible (and various other religions in general) than I had ever imagined before. Stick around long enough and you will see what I mean.
As for vids to watch, have you discovered Dark Matter and Non Stamp Collector yet? If you enjoy warped humor, those are fantastic. And The Atheist Experience is always a must to watch. Matt Dillahunty and his crew are awesome. Anyway, like I said before, many great folks here. If you really want to learn, just jump in and start asking questions. Keep in mind, though, we are not known for pulling punches around here. But even if you do get nipped a time or two, just remember it's because we care.... lol

Binge watched many of the more prominent yt atheists, like Viced Rhino and Aronra which caught me up to speed with crash courses on "evilution".
We Australians are renowned for shitposting (at least on 4chan - a site my nanny-state blocked after the Christchurch incident) so I really am expecting more than a couple of nips lol.

The oil can belongs to Tin-Man. You don't want to mess with that. We all like to play as if we don't know what he does with it.
The bathroom is that last door on the left. If there is a banana peel on the knob, don't go inside. Long story, don't ask.
If you happen to find a pig-nose mask, please hide it as quickly as possible. Even if you have to stuff it in your pocket.
The back deck is in a small yard with a thick forest beyond it. If you see a tree moving in the forest, don't worry, that is just me tending my forest-garden.
So come right on in and set a spell.
Now that the formalities are out the way …
What makes you think we want any new friends here? We have hard enough time just dealing with ourselves. How you want to join.

Seriously, come right on in friend. Any apostate is a potential friend of mine. I have been apostate my entire since I was born. After 50+ years of putting up with and forcing myself to tolerate all the persecution, discrimination, physical abuse, psychological terrorism, hatred, bigotry, etc., etc. Now in few remaining years of my life I have declared war against any and all religions.
Thus, if you see any of my posts, they can be quite verbose (ask others), and may seem quite hateful. However, it is against the ideology of religion that I now do unto them as they have done unto me. I think that it is their Golden Rule: "Do unto others before they can do unto you." At least that is how religion operates in my worthless opinion.
So come right on in and join us. Help us in our disagreement with ideology of religion. We need more apostates.

I think we'll get along quite well, I too have declared war on Abraham in all his forms, don't really know enough about other religions to form much of an opinion on them.

Welcome to this corner of free thought. There are a myriad of specialists in this place, so any questions ask away. Debates can get heated which is just fun, language can be Anglo Saxon at its scataological and blasphemous best.
Watch out for humour, do not read posts while consuming any comestibles or adorned with any domestic animals. ( Arakish's 3rd Law of AR) They won't like the results. Neither will you. I've lost count of the times I have inadvertently snorted tea through my nose, coughed red wine on the screen, keyboard, and table and thoroughly soaked Captain Cat. You have been warned.

Hey, just a little FYI tip real quick. When replying to a specific person, it helps greatly if you use the "@" followed by the member's name at the top of your post. (As I have done with this post.) Cuts down on much confusion, especially when the threads start getting longer and more jumbled.

RE: Video's to Watch. "How Jesus Became God" Bart Ehrman. Bart is generally honest but when he argues for the existence of God, he is as ill informed as any other Christian.
Almost anything with Richard Carrier. An excellent historian who borders on Mythacism but does so with actual facts.
Keep away from the Astro-theology stuff. It's interesting but all supposition.
