When I first went to Japan in

When I first went to Japan in the early 1970s, gender roles were very clear and rigid. Women were supposed to be subservient and quiet, and men were aggressive and loud. Japanese women have become more assertive, self-confident, and ambitious, but I don't think Japanese men have evolved much, so they don't know how to relate to strong, independent women. Many of them have retreated into inner fantasy worlds of shooter games and porn, usually with Lolita overtones. They are passive and lacking in ambition. I've heard Japanese women describing men like that as "herbivores." There's also a lot of stalking-type crimes by men who are incapable of forming normal relationships with women.

It doesn't bode well for Japan's future. I've seen predictions that they'll be extinct before the end of this century.

I doubt japan will go extinct

I doubt japan will go extinct in the next 83 years, but I suppose anything can happen. Certainly not for the sole reason of women becoming much more assertive and self confident.

Besides, Japanese women do not need men, a sperm bank and government sponsored assistance of the additional cost can solve that problem. Or just a small percentage of men that are not so insecure in their manhood, willing to do the quick and pleasurable part with multiple different women. (I imagine there will not be a shortage of volunteers for this particular "job."

I do think this problem does exacerbate japan's current population growth issues however. Perhaps Japan should take in some refuges if they have a shortage of young able bodies to work and support their aging population and reverse their population decline trends?
