It is no witch hunt! The hammer is going to fall and I hope the christians know that more progressives are starting to run and win offices.
Their interfering into politics must come to an end and I believe the tide is starting to turn.
Separation of church and state is a must and we should never give up or give in to their demands!

Trump did live up to his campaign promise to the theists, that he would roll back many secular laws, and to install a nutcase in the Supreme Court. They will vote for him next election cycle.

Maybe, I have learned to never underestimate a tRump's fanatic's loyalty to tRump.
Trump did have a few victories but they are few and do not gain much for the bulk of tRump's fanatical base. The supreme court nominee (barely! wasn't even really his choice he just "signed off on it.") The secular laws stuff, environmental stuff, and ofcourse the big tax break for the rich and powerful.
It is very likely however that by November 2020 trump would have failed to deliver on:
- failed to: ending affordable healthcare act (Obama care)
- failed to: building much of any new south border wall (So far more new wall has been built while Obama was president!)
- Will most certainly fail on getting Mexico to pay for the wall
- failed to: suspend immigration from terror prone places
- failed to: cancel funding of "sanctuary cities"
- failed to: establish a commission on radical islam
- failed to: Insure that criminal aliens convicted of illegal re-entry receive strong mandatory minimum sentences.
- failed to: end birthright citizenship
- failed to: defund planned parenthood (this is impossible as the bulk of PP funds is now via private donation.)
- failed to: invest $550 billion to revamp U.S. infrastructure
- failed to: Administer Medicaid through block grants
That is a lot of failures, an attack ad on Trump in the run up to the election writes it self. Even some of tRumps victories could be used as ammo against his own base as 3 years after the big tax break people are going to notice things have not gotten any better for the common (not hyper rich) person.
To make matters far worse, none of that got done while GOP controlled all branches of the government. Now democrats control the House, and successfully won a stare down contest almost immediately with tRump completely surrendering giving Pelosi exactly what she asked for and getting nothing in return except a majority blame for a 5 week shutdown.
Anything can happen in the future, and I would say, yes: plenty of diehard tRump fanatics will still vote for the guy, but tRump is going to lose the next election hard, (remember he just barely! won 2 years ago, and still lost the popular vote by millions.)
Two tRump fanatics in my own family have both stated they have now lost all respect for tRump, with the latest one deciding yesterday "I backed a spineless liar!" They both hate Pelosi with a deep burning passion however.

I am well aware trump won the electoral college vote by 77.
I consider it a travesty of democracy that electoral college vote supersedes the popular vote. Even if it went the other way where if my choice for a new president won the electoral vote but lost the popular vote by millions. (My choice was not Hillary btw, even though I think we are way past due for a female president.)
Curious, were you a trump supporter? Are you still now? If so, do you think trump still serves your best interest? Especially after seeing the list I posted? How would you respond to that? Obviously if you do not want to share this and stay away from debate here in the atheist hub I completely understand. Let me offer an outside view. Trump and his minions are a working example of how not to govern, and how a democracy should never be run.
You have a buffoon at the helm, one who is in so deep even his hair can not keep him afloat.
Other democracies will be better because we are learning what not to do. The politicians are concerned, and the citizens are now on guard against Trump style tactics.

Christian theocracy has never existed in the USA and there is no threat of it, not in your wildest imaginings. Islamic theocracy, however, is possibly lurking in our future. At the present rate of immigration and the current birth rate Islam will reach 50% of the Canadian population within 50 years, according to a demographer on CBC radio (compliments of Justine Trudeau). Look at the money the US government will save when its military only has to drive north to engage the Islamists instead of having to transport men and equipment to the Middle East. Oh, but you might need a wall on your northern border. :(

Have you ever listened to Ben Shapiro? I've never heard a clearer articulation of why Trump was elected. I've never heard a saner approach to political analysis. Shapiro, of course, is an orthodox Jew and I don't take the entirety of his views, but in 2016 I began looking around for media coverage I could trust and I settled on The Daily Wire. Shapiro did not vote for Trump, but thinks now he might. You want some smart reasons to consider the Republican ticket, check him out.

Trump got elected by finding angry mobs and shouting with them. Now he finds himself tied in knots trying to keep the rash promises he made about building walls and punishing China. He's not a conservative. He's an opportunist showman.
My comment about conservative Christians relates to their inability to judge candidates on anything other than their professed religious views.
I'm far from what Americans would call a "liberal". I believe that politics should be about achieving the national consensus needed to maintain law and order and defend the borders so that people and businesses can make a living and get on with their lives without hurting each other or the environment. Coercion and taxation should be kept to a minimum within those parameters. Religious/ethnic/gender politics makes as much sense to me as religious/ethnic/gender car maintenance.
Its a great start. But much, much still needs to be done. Especially in the United States the task of de-Christianisation is an arduous one, more so than in many European countries.

About Nov 2015 I made the move from the Left to the Right. Oh, I still have a lot of left leaning ideas Christians would not be too fond of, but I came to recognize an extreme bias in the mainstream media that corrupts the fairness of the reporting. Also, I sincerely believe the social media platforms are out to silence conservative voices. There are a lot of dirty tactics being played out by the Left that I expect to increase the closer we get to the election. The tyranny of the Left is that it always attempts to silence those voices it does not agree with. I am very much afraid of the direction the country is moving in and my fear is not a of Neo-nazis or conservative Christians. The Nazis are too few and the Christians too disorganized (and they are not likely to shout you down, unless they are from the Westboro Baptist Church).
