Until I went to school at the age of 5 I had absolutely no idea that religions existed. Prior to going to school I had quite a bit of contact with Jewish people ... my mother had a business making curtains and covering furniture, mainly for Jewish clients, and she used to take me along when she visited their houses. I liked associating with their children.
On my first day at school (a state school ... but in an area where there were a LOT of Irish Catholics). I was confronted with INSANITY This was in 1947 in London ... but, despite the holocaust, the Christians (the Catholics) I was forced to associate with HATED the Jews ...because they killed Jesus, they killed God.
Real crazy stuff.
I had a squint ... the teacher told the class I had a "Judas eye".
I had 2 years of this before I escaped to the Junior school ... where the headmaster kept a lid on this nonsense.
