New to the site:

I haven't looked around yet, and don't know if I'll find anything to my liking.

I'm already concerned that this visit is maybe a one time privilege and that I might have to pay in the future.

I'll begin by saying that three of the four belief classes are atheistic, so simply being an atheist isn't definitive of what a person believes.

I'll also say that if we focus on either atheism versus theism or science versus religion we're way off-track: It's about proving that one belief class is right- not perpetuating a conflict between two of the four belief classes.

I've scanned the first ten

I've scanned the first ten pages of forum posts and didn't see anything of interest. I'm looking for signs of people working towards conclusiveness in one belief, and there were none.

One belief? Anything specific? Many different beliefs around these parts.

By the way, welcome to the AR. Many good folks here. Many of us "old timers" are almost like family now... *chuckle*... Feel free to join our little dysfunctional group of heathens. The more the merrier.

Thanks for the welcome, but I don't believe there is anything of significant value to be learned here.

I don't know... Personally, I have learned many fascinating things since joining the AR. This site was a major factor in helping me get through my transition after I finally broke free from my religious indoctrination. Now I hang around to help others do the same. Plus, I have made a few friends on here, and it can be quite entertaining horsing around and/or having a few interesting discussions about a wide range of topics. Anyway, just my two cents worth.

Like Old man said, though, maybe you should tell us specifically what it is you want to discuss. We are always looking for new and interesting points of view to gnaw on... *chuckle*...

This site is not for everyone

@KelseyR
This site is not for everyone. I, like Tin-Man, always welcome more folks to read and contribute.
I personally have learned a lot here, and still learn stuff just about every time I visit these boards.

But if you scanned the threads on this site and found nothing of interest to you that is fine. Good luck in your search, the internet is a vast place. I don't know what you consider to be of significant value to you so I can't even help you in pointing you in the right direction.

It does come off a bit abrasive/odd that you take the time to post here, but only to say there is of nothing of interest to you here. Each to their own I guess. To me the general attitude you seem to have in your search for "anything of signficant value" could actually be detrimental to your search. I can only suggest perhaps re-evaluating how to seek such information.

Welcome, maybe you should share what you think you know. It might stimulate the kind of discussion you wish for in these forums.

This isn't a bad suggestion,

This isn't a bad suggestion, but it would take a lot of sustained effort to change a rather sickly aim in rejecting/disproving God to a healthier one in proving that nature provides eternal existence. I see no worth in the political activist agenda either. It should be about spirited competition... with reason on our side.

@KelseyR: HUH? "Three of

@KelseyR: HUH? "Three of four belief classes are atheist? No idea at all what that means. Atheism is a lack of belief in god or gods. Atheism is not a belief system at all. How do you have Atheism vs Theism? That's like saying "Holding a glass water in your hand vs. not holding water in your hand." Having an empty hand says nothing at all about the hand that is full. You assert that atheism does not define what a person believes and then you treat it as a belief.

You are off on this "classes of belief" stuff again. You will probably have to define your terms.

A belief class consists of

A belief class consists of two choices: these made within two factors in cause and effect.

Cause: Nature or Magic
Effect: Continuation or Discontinuation

This yields four permutations:

NC
ND
MC
MD

All but MC are atheistic

All but NC are inconclusive

ND and MC are antagonistic antitheses

This site is primarily ND: unhealthily fixated on 'evil' MC

P.S. The links you provided reflect analyses gone wrong. Use my method. It explains everything.

Well, my first post on

Well, my first post on beliefs quantification failed. Best thing by far on this site and it got few reads and fewer replies. And those replying couldn't even understand clear, simple statements- much preferring to challenge. Hopeless!

Thank you soooo much for taking time out of your obviously busy narcissistic schedule to vist our dreary little site and remind us insignificant brainless losers just how pathetic and incompetent we truly are. Without the gracious input from you and the other magnificent pantheons of your stature, some of us on here would likely begin to believe we have something to contribute to society and that our lives actually have value and meaning. Fortunately, your timely arrival has managed to curtail any and all such hopes and dreams, and our frivolous and tedious existence remains intact for yet another day. Praise be unto you for reminding us our lives are still the hopelessly dull and listless toiling trials of mediocricy to which we should forever aspire.... *slightly bowing respectfully at waist*...

Oh... And, uh, try not to let the door smack your tight ass on the way out. Wouldn't want it to drive that stick any further up than it already is.
