OK guys......
Looks like we've going to have to 'up' our game....
Religious experience activates same brain circuits as 'sex, drugs, and rock 'n' roll'

A "must read" IMHO...if only for the chapter titled......"Assessing the brain activity of Mormons"
(I nearly had a hernia while suppressing the urge to comment on that one...)

Why would we have to up our game?
Non-belief already allows sex, drugs and rock n' roll. :)
So religion is like a computer virus or trojan that sneaks in via circuits intended for other more positive purposes. One of the more surprising discoveries to emerge from this study is that Mormons actually have functioning brains.
Add to this, how children below a certain age can be taught to believe in just about any nonsense, and you have a clear understanding of why nonsense like this propagates.
And the nonsense that is best at tricking its believers to successfully spread itself to others, to successfully propagate, are the religions we have today.
Okay, this starts with an unanswerable question: What is a deeply religious experience? [/ scam/] Maybe Jill Stein has the answer.
This smacks of that other thread regarding clairvoyance.
Upping the game? Abbie Hoffman was an advocate of Drugs, Rock and Roll, and fucking in the streets. Still the same triad of activities with an emboldened exhibitionist twist.
