The Slave Bible

In my studies of the ridiculousness of religion and namely the Bible, recently I found out that there it is a book called the “Slave Bible” that was written by the British and used to control the people of the Caribbean islands. It was written three years after the only successful revolt of those people and since then along with the sword has helped keep these poor people oppressed. It’s not very known but they have one on display in the museum. I just thought it was very interesting to see how the English people had made a Bible like that in order to trick the people into thinking God supported them of having slaves and the poor people of that area were scared because they thought God wanted them to be slaves. Anyway, the book is also called “Parts of the Bible” and if anyone else knows things about it I would love to hear. In the meantime I am going to do a little research of it myself and I will let you all know what I find out. My main point about the Bible is that it was invented by people to control the population and make them scared. When I found out evidence of this slave Bible I was amazed.

Every version of the bible since the turn of the second century is exactly that. Written and collated to induce fear, intolerance and social conformity. It is it's purpose.

First initiated by 'Paul' and then perfected by the Roman State culminating in the KJV and all the splinter translations since, including the 'Slave Bible' which I also found fascinating.

Did you know the Bible

Did you know the Bible teaches that slaves should honor or love their masters and to serve them as they would serve Jesus?
They make it look good that masters should treat slaves nice..
My take is. There shouldn’t be slaves. There’s no such thing as a subhuman slave, we’re all equals all needs of people are of equal importance.
Hierarchies are an invisible non existent structure. No ones better or worse than the other

RE: SLAVE BIBLE: I don't

RE: SLAVE BIBLE: I don't think they would have had to change a damn thing. Just take the slave verses in the regular bible and print them in red.

1 Peter 2:18; Slaves, in reverent fear of God submit yourselves to your masters, not only to those who are good and considerate, but also to those who are harsh.

1 Timothy 6:1; 1 All who are under the yoke of slavery should consider their masters worthy of full respect, so that God’s name and our teaching may not be slandered.

Colossians 3:22; 22 Slaves, obey your earthly masters in everything; and do it, not only when their eye is on you and to curry their favor, but with sincerity of heart and reverence for the Lord.

Ephesians 6:5; 5 Slaves, obey your earthly masters with respect and fear, and with sincerity of heart, just as you would obey Christ.

Titus 2:9-10; 9 Teach slaves to be subject to their masters in everything, to try to please them, not to talk back to them, 10 and not to steal from them, but to show that they can be fully trusted, so that in every way they will make the teaching about God our Savior attractive.

Leviticus 25:44-46 “ ‘Your male and female slaves are to come from the nations around you; from them you may buy slaves. 45 You may also buy some of the temporary residents living among you and members of their clans born in your country, and they will become your property. 46 You can bequeath them to your children as inherited property and can make them slaves for life, but you must not rule over your fellow Israelites ruthlessly.

Exodus 20 21: 20 “Anyone who beats their male or female slave with a rod must be punished if the slave dies as a direct result, 21 but they are not to be punished if the slave recovers after a day or two, since the slave is their property

(These are only a few passages. I am sure that if we simply put them in red, they would encourage any slave to simply be happy with their lot in life. )

Odd, but there doesn't seem to be a record of Jesus saying anything about slavery, only of people telling everyone what god wants.

I was of course aware of slavery in the Torah. The teachings there seem to simply reflect the mores of the times, .as indeed does the new testament.

It is my understanding that slave owners in the ante bellum Southern US used a ham fisted biblical reference to justify slavery. (ahem) From Genesis 9. The Southern neanderthals claimed (wrongly) that black people were the children of Ham, one of the sons of Noah. . As it turns out, the bible makes no reference to the colour of Noah's Children ---Noah's family were the last remaining human beings, so could hardly mate with another race; there weren't any. That is one of perhaps hundreds of problems with taking the Old Testament literally.

The old testament showed that with the possible exception of the slaves, everyone at the time thought slavery was just fucking dandy*** EG the prophet Abraham raped his slave Hagar who then bore Ishmael, the traditional father of the arabs.

I think there's a problem citing the Pauline epistles. There are five generally considered forgeries; First and Second Timothy, Hebrews, Ephesians and Titus. There is an ongoing debate on the validity of second Thessalonians and Colossians.

"In the biblical account, Noah and his family are not described in racial terms. But as the story echoed through the centuries and around the world, variously interpreted by Islamic, Christian and Jewish scholars, Ham came to be widely portrayed as black; blackness, servitude and the idea of racial hierarchy became inextricably linked.

By the 19th century, many historians agree, the belief that African-Americans were descendants of Ham was a primary justification for slavery among Southern Christians."

***Anecdotal ; Once ran into an American lady who was doing her MA at Old Miss. She proved that slaves were perfectly content being slaves. How? Well, seems she came across papers of some slave owners who had actually ASKED their slaves if they were happy. A full 100% affirmed that they were perfectly happy.

I then asked; If the slaves were so damned happy why did THOUSANDS of them try to escape? She went all chicken lipped and that was the end of that dinner party.

I’m sure if North Korea did a poll they’d have the same results - 100% happy population
