This is not about theism nor atheism. I just want to know what are your thoughts when it the word rational and empirical comes to your mind. Which side you prefer the source of knowledge. Thanks for giving any ideas!

Rational and empirical go hand in hand. There is no way you can choose side. You need to question what you observe. There is no theory that holds if there is no eventual proove.
All theories need to be tested. They're stlll testing relativity now, 100 years later.
(That damn cosmological constant caused a problem....)
In order for any idea or belief to be considered rational in the least, the persons conviction must be proportioned to the evidence, so rationality and empiricism are inseparable from each other.
