Who is Jesus and why does he matter?

TheFlyingPig - I have made

TheFlyingPig - I have made the point that there is no physical representation of Jesus Christ in the NT...

TheFlyingPig -They don’t say anything about him having a super human physical appearance, his skin color, hair color, beard or not, his height, his facial looks, nothing but nothing.

I don't know what to say; considering John gives a description of Jesus's appearance in the NT. If I remember correctly: the author said that Jesus's hair was white.

Are you sure?

Could you quote the verse please.

On a quick search, all I was able to find [in the new testament] was:

"Revelation 1:14-15 “The hairs of his head were white, like white wool, like snow. His eyes were like a flame of fire, his feet were like burnished bronze, refined in a furnace, and his voice was like the roar of many waters.”

Could that have been the passage of which you were thinking?

In John: "John 1:14 “And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.”

And: "Philippians 2:5-7 “Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men.”

I have no idea of this Epistle is considered a forgery by your actual scholars..

There are prophetic descriptions in the Old Testament alluding to The Mashiach (Messiah). Even if accurate not very helpful. A quick study of Jewish sources ( their messiah after all) shows that Jesus didn't come close to meeting prophecy. EG The Mashiach is to be a warrior king in the tradition of David , and he is most definitely not divine. There's a lot more if you want to go looking.

I guess this lack of a precise physical description of Jesus plus his unrecorded date of birth and death make sense if one accepts the bible is only myth after all. Plus, right now, I'm beginning to move closer to accepting Jesus himself is myth. That there was no historical person.

Repost of pic earlier in

Repost of pic earlier in thread referencing the scripture Nyar mentioned.

Post this and see the reaction you get if you don’t think “black lives matter”... or racism isn’t an issue...

I think each and every “Trump” supporter should be sent this pic and asked “when they die, how are they going to feel about this face ‘greeting’ them”. LOL

Giggle: I just posted the question and pic on facebook - hehehehehe. This should be FUN!

Calilasseia: has Winston bailed out?

It looks like he's gone back to Room 101 to get his illusions repaired.
