"It’s easier to say “atheist” than “ajehovah” or “achrist” or “aallah” or “azeus”.... etc etc “theist” covers them all..."

It pisses off believers to point out that the atheist simply disbelieves in one fewer god than they.

why are you an athiest?

Always happy to answer this question:

Because I am not theist. (look up the word "theist" if you are not sure what it means.)

Happy to further explain this answer if you ask.

I'm an atheist because I don

I'm an atheist because I don't believe in theists.

I can't believe that any homo sapiens could possibly fall for all that holy horseshit.

As you can readily witness

As you can readily witness whydoit, many of us atheists challenge everything and do not accept anything just because someone said so.

Do you look both ways before you cross the street? Of course, you want to find out the truth.

Skeptic ... be one. It leads you to the truth.

Do you think it's possible this dweeb might have been a pigeon?*** We seem to get more than our share of those.

*** A rather silly bird who craps over everything and flies away.

Pigeon, a huge one with a bowel built for shitting on the world . It came back and dumped even more nonsnse, the part about being a polytheist. This bird don't fly, it just runs around, shits on everything, then runs away thinking it's shit had some value.

Grinseed laid it out succinctly, with:

"I have never heard of a school to allow a discussion on such a fundamental issue like the existence of gods. I have known teachers being sacked or threatened with dismissal for trying. It tends to upset fundamentalist parents. I am supposing it's an independent non-denominational school or just exceptional or simply doesn't exist and this whole post is made up."

Logic eliminates a lot of possibilities. I can never see a theistic church allowing this type of paper, and a polytheist in their midst. Is this just a public school? Most public schools won't touch this topic with a 100 meter long pole. A private school for intelligent students? Nah, the OP doesn't display qualities for admission.

We have witnessed students from schools come in here asking for information for a paper, and at least they had a semblance of sanity and intelligence.

Hmmmm...from my avian perspective that pic looks attractively kinky. It wouldn't be from a newsstand magazine at any chance, would it?

There is no objective

There is no objective evidence for a god(s) and the claim has never reached even a modicum of the burden of proof.

Hey'

Hey'
Things went rly weird
I just don't see how could anyone convert an atheist who knows what implies believing... maybe through boredom but you can still ban for spam.
I think we should sincerely explain to him what is believing (like some of you already did) and wait for his answers instead of scaring him.
Even though the hell pp is definitely suspicious.

Yes, it got brutal very quickly. But some in this forum have been around the block, and we encounter stuff like this frequently. We are skeptical, and apply it to everything in life, from our finances, to politics, to this god question, and also on the validity of every post and poster. Heck, I even do an internal self-audit on myself, especially to see if I did anyone harm, and my morals.

And as described in some previous posts, it just didn't add up, something was fishy.

If it looks like a duck, swims like a duck, and quacks like a duck, then it probably is a duck.

Raphael... don’t worry. How

Raphael... don’t worry. How hard is it to “google” search “atheist” and read the meaning.
Or look up an article or two? Or listen to a YouTube clip?

Nahhhh - this isn’t “research” for a school paper. If it is, it’s good for this kid to get use to voices on the internet.

It’s the new world for the new generation...

Also - do you think he watches movies or play video games? Talks with other kids? If this bothers him that much - tough shit.

He OP 3 days ago and never responded once... how often have you been responding? See the difference?

Read all of that.

Now, if King James approached you with a book on how to identify, capture, interrogate, torture and kill a witch, and he gave it to you, and you took it home just to get the weirdo away from you, much like people do with Jehovah's witnesses...

And then 15 years later you run into him again, and he gives you a Bible, are you going to buy into it when you get home?

400 years later, are you going to have faith in a society that is led by people who were taught by people who were taught by people who were taught by etc etc etc to buy into this guy from Scotland, believing in Middle Eastern "history" hearsay, that would have been begging for change in today's day and age?

It's more plausible by King James interpretation through his commission of the Bible, that Jesus was a narcissist who was really good at making himself look good while pointing the finger at others, until he pointed the wrong way. Maybe he was more intelligent at first aid, maybe he was a more intelligent shoe maker for standing on rocks. Maybe he was just parkour. I truly don't know, because an inbreds name is on every bible.

I choose to let it go and believe this Jesus guy was a kind dude who just accidentally opened his mouth when he shouldn't have, we all do it, and I celebrate that he wasn't the only person born with the ability for compassion, kindness, love and the willingness to teach.

And yes, all the other ridiculous versions of religion too. If there's a good one out there, I'm unaware of it, forgive me. I identify as an Atheist, but am aware other Atheists exercise their ability to think differently than I do as well. It's fn beautiful.

One more bit for you.

One more bit for you.

There are books on the earth being flat. There are people who believe it still.

There's a book for every religion, just one, but it's an almighty holy one, so it counts for more than all the flat earth books.
That's why there are more people that believe in religion than the flat earth.

The flat earthers just need something stupid to distract them from their subconscious telling them, "there's something wrong here", so they implement the flat earth so they can change their existence to a more comfortable experience of constantly rejecting things instead of constantly being rejected.

Wham bam thank you ma'am.
