Christopher Hitchens on the Arrogance of Faith

Arrogance of Faith

“I have been called arrogant myself in my time, and hope to earn the title again, but to claim that I am privy to the secrets of the universe and its creator—that's beyond my conceit.

Somebody take this guy and

Somebody take this guy and raise him from the dead, what we need is the 2nd coming of Christopher Hitchens! I personally feel he did more good for this world than Jesus or Mohammed ever did though it might be a fraction when compared to evil those two triggered. Nothing good has ever surmounted the bad that has come of someone claiming to be privy to the secrets of the universe and its creator.

To think you can do good by starting a whole new branch of religion is by far one of the most arrogant things a person can do though its easy to see why someone would want to do it even for good intentions. As they say, the road to hell is paved with them. Don't fool yourself into thinking you can start a religion or a church and cause more good than harm.
