You can cite a hundred references to show that the biblical God is a bloodthirsty tyrant, but if they can dig up two or three verses that say God is love, they will claim that YOU are taking things out of context!

I know right I have seen theist take words right out of the bible while giving you chapter and verse from sentences that directly conflict with what they are saying. Its messed up and the amount of ignorance that it takes to be this blind to reality is staggering. Its almost like they have Stockholm Syndrome and they can now only defend and see good in their those who kept them captive in this case an imaginary figure called God.
