Why "near death experiences" don’t usually come from Hell?

I always wonder why people who have "near death experiences" always talk about seeing a white light or departed loved ones or whatever. You never hear anyone saying "Yeah, there was this glowing red fire and brimstone, and some evil looking guy was trying to shove a hot poker up my ass, so I was like, I'm gettin' the fuck outta there!"

I am pretty sure the "white light" thing is just produced by the brain during traumatic events, in order to protect the person from stress. Either that, or people who have had near death experiences are lying.
