Despite remarks made earlier this past week by Pope Francis stating that Christ could redeem non-believers for doing good. But the Vatican and Catholic Church clarified the statement by saying that non-believers cannot be saved by Jesus and therefore cannot reach heaven.
These remarks have made some big headlines around the world and appear to contradict what the Pope had to say, but the church did try to clarify that any person, good or bad who accepts Jesus can be saved and despite what they may have done in their lives, go to heaven.
The Vatican stated that all non-believers in Jesus or the church are in fact going to hell. The public stance by the Vatican has raised some eyebrows, but for those who wish to live their life by the guidance of the Catholic Church, it has expressed the feelings that are already shared by millions around the world.
