How do I use this site to browse members/find people?
I have a project in mind to support the Atheist community and I hope to find partners here to sanity check the concept and partner in flushing out the concept and building it.

How about just say what the project is and ask if anyone is interested?
It's evolving. Generally, it's a platform for Atheists to organize for activism.
Color me intrugued. What manner of activism and is there any particular theme?
Oops, I missed this one. It's just a mechanism. No theme. It's a way for niche groups (like social justice or libertarian Atheists) to collaborate on ideas and initiatives separately, but then come together and work as one for initiatives they agree on. This maximizes the effectiveness of all of everybody while keeping them out of each others way and letting people share ideas.
Also, the initial phase only allows me to nominate 2 people for the steering committee and I already nominated one person. So I need to thoroughly vet them.
Unfortunately searching the forum is not straight forward, but I'll give you a tip.
You can use Google to do it. Let's say you want to search the forums for the word turtles then do this:
https://www.google.com/#q=turtles+site:http:%2F%2Fwww.atheistrepublic.co...
Or if you want to search for the exact phrase "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" do this:
https://www.google.com/#q=%22Teenage+Mutant+Ninja+Turtles%22+site:http:%...
I can't find anyone with computer programming ability that way. But thank you again for the tip. :)
AWESOME. THANK YOU!!!!!! Can I add friends? Because I want you as my friend. or twitter? @AcrebicAtheist
Well sure we can be friends, but I don't have a twitter or facebook... heh
haha OK. well thank you again!
This comes off as extremely shady.
it's a not-for-profit initiative. But if that's how you see it, that's how you see it.
Activism is all to easily interpreted as just another form of religion or, in this case, the A-Religion. It will be organized similarly to carry out assignments in the footsteps of the missionaries that precede it. No bueno. Market yourselves properly to avoid that astigmatism.
Be careful of your methods and conduct. I suggest a less revolutionary description of your plans remove the word Activism and replace it with Outreach. The former smacks of yet another hot headed, tiresome special interest group needing a swift kick in the pants. The latter tells me there's something worthy afoot.
You want to be very careful not to be labeled a Hipster, or in his latest form a beardster, and get dismissed just on aesthetics alone. Have a dress code and a code of conduct that is respectable. No hot heads. Salesmen only need apply.
No. I'm not interested in seeking the fruit that time alone, more than this or many succeeding generations, can bring forth to worthy yields.
The semantics at this early stage are not important, but thank you- I'll keep that in mind!
I'm not worried with being labeled, this is something I would like to make Humanist and Atheist efforts more effective. Full stop. This mechanism is like twitter. Anyone can use it, and they can use it effectively, irrespective of their outfit.
