When a Wilmington NC commissioner was asked about the need for prayers at official meetings he said, "If we don't have a prayer the devil might get in." I'm not sure which is more disturbing; that he actually believes this, that people voted for him or that he is actually in charge of anything.

Just shows that the Religious Absolutists still hold all the power in North Carolina, especially SENCland (southeastern North Carolina), where I grew up and was heinously abused by the Baptists there. I love NC because it has some of the most beautiful land I have ever lived in, especially the woodlands, the wild woodlands. Just being an atheist there, one has to walk about as if in a mine field, literally.

Maybe North Carolina should have borrowed that "Prayer Battery" SC007 was talking about in another thread. I have to admit, I am very curious as to how they know at what level it is charged. What type of meter would one use to accurately determine prayer charging levels?... *scratching head*...
