Terrorist in the USA

https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/the-us-has-a-homegrown-terrorist...

This article explains a lot of what I've been concerned about in the us today. I spoke with my black friend that lives in the south, and he told me when Obama became president and the birther movement began some white people stopped talking and doing business with him. Racism is alive and growing as more idiots are emboldened to do horrendous acts. Similar to the Muslim hater in Portland who killed two heroic men who defended young Muslim girls.

No one holds anyone

No one holds anyone accountable, including the people who make accusations that others aren't held accountable. They don't hold themselves accountable, for their own positing, by bringing the data to establish their own credibility.

Accountability? For what? Living freely? Speaking freely? Freedom to have and express an opinion that differs from others?

I call foul that someone accuses others of not being responsible when I have no doubt they don't quite have a handle on that virtue themselves. Now, will I be told I'm not accountable to some (name your poison) standard of accountability for making that accusation?

Silly, isn't it?

Every time someone expresses an opinion in opposition they summarily commit themselves to some form of vindication by the opposition. So, the opinion without data to support it is hearsay and simple forum chatter and noise. People freely engage in that and the next thing you know ignorance and their short term memory of the latest MSN coverage of their topic du jour are the best they can be bothered to bring.

From there it devolves to volleying nonsense where "the second liar always wins".

People so easily accuse others of a lack of accountability (usually their own brand) but don't really understand they're speaking out of both sides of their mouths by bringing that accusation.

When you live in a glass house it's best not to throw stones.

Of course, if you're outed by someone who observes your faux pas you can always cop a victim's plea. I hear that's quite popular and lucrative these days. Libs are fabulously skilled at assaulting with it, pubs never mastered the art of defense and independents are absolutely clueless about the issues they could easily learn and leave the partisan dynamic nitwit duos in the dust with. But, accountability? That word was coined with good intentions but has never graced the psyche of man.

Pitar you don't take

Pitar you don't take responsibility for your own shit so don't backhand lecture me. I am on to your cowboy poetry bullshit. "Awe Shucks folks, what we got cheer is a failure to communicate." Sound familiar?
For the record, I have taken ownership for everything I have ever posted.
You're just a closet conservative and just as clueless as you claim others to be.

Jamie, if you're looking to

Jamie, if you're looking to twist a word to suit your own agenda you have the freedom to do just that. But, remember, if everyone is a terrorist, in the manner you so cavalierly throw around to suit your point and will probably continue to do as long as you have an axe to grind on any point of the compass, then no one will be. We will simply be as we've always been - human.

I see your point. Terrorist was a part of the title in the article I posted. The word is thrown around often, but when I see that people are being murdered for no reason at all by whomever I believe that brings terror. If you don't want to bring light to the situation thats fine but if your going to debate about it you should probably bring some examples of how these innocent people aren't being murdered. Just a thought :)

@JamieB: "98% terrorist men."

@JamieB: "98% terrorist men."

That's a disturbing article, JamieB. When these loons set off bombs or kill people with cars, everyone wants to know their religion, their ethnic background, etc. When we learn that they were Muslims with Syrian or Libyan backgrounds, there's almost a sense of relief, as if that alone explained their heinous crimes.

Perhaps we should be asking what kind of relationships they had with their mothers and fathers, and their teachers and classmates, and what kind of childhood they had. And when tearful parents appear on TV saying they had no idea their sons were involved in terrorism, perhaps we should be asking them some pointed questions.

Adolescent men are the most fragile, brittle creatures in the world. They are constantly driven to prove themselves, and constantly filled with doubt and fear. They are also highly prone to suicide or random violence. Most of us survive this transition, but a significant number remain dangerously aggressive. I don't think either Christian or Muslim societies have any effective way to channel that toxic aggression, other than crusades or jihads. Time for something new?
