Rabbie Asor, with thousands of followers on social media, is inclined to controversy. In his recent virtual homily, he asserts that “any vaccine made using an embryonic substrate, and we have evidence of this, causes opposite tendencies. Vaccines are taken from an embryonic substrate, and they did that here, too, so … it can cause opposite tendencies,” the Rabbi said, seemingly referring to homosexuality. The conspiratorial Rabbi spins various unfounded theories in addition to falsely professing a link between vaccines and homosexuality. He embraces ideas that the coronavirus — and the vaccine created to prevent it — are both the scheme of a “global malicious government,” which includes the Freemasons, the Illuminati, Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates and others who are “trying to establish a new world order.” He further argues that the virus was released to "cull the global population" and that the vaccines seek to further this agenda. An LGBT+ organization, Havruta, mocked the Rabbi in a statement saying they were “gearing up to welcome our impending new members” following the vaccine's wide-scale rollout in Israel.

In a horrifying incident, a mother bludgeoned her two daughters in their 20s, allegedly at the advice of a tantric priest, while their father watched the grisly act in silence. A mother killed her two daughters using dumbells on the night of Sunday, Jan. 24th in Andhra Pradesh, India. When police arrived on the scene, they inquired about the incident. The girls' parents explained that their daughters would come alive again after the sunrise, as "kalyuga" ends and "satyuga" begins. Police reached the scene of the incident after a tip-off. The police identified the victims as 27-year-old Alekhya and 22-year-old Sai Divya. As police forced themselves into the home, the parents resisted them, refusing to allow the bodies to be removed, saying that the “girls will come back by morning.” The hysterical mother later told police, “the Atmas (souls) left, and they were supposed to come back. But they did not. I have lost my daughters.” Police officials reported that the mother was “delusional." But when they finally forced their way inside, they discovered a shocking crime scene. The bodies of both girls were covered in long red silk sarees. The police recovered a trident and the dumbbells used to kill the girls as they placed the couple in custody.

The state-run body (Diyanet) claims the tradition of wearing an eye-shaped blue amulet, the ‘evil-eye’ — which is believed to have originated from as far back as 3,300 BCE — is incompatible with Islam and prohibited. This tradition has become widely adopted in Turkey. "Although the nature and condition of the evil eye are unknown, it is accepted by religion that some people can create negative effects with their gaze," according to the advisory published by Diyanet on the internet. “In our religion, attitudes, behaviors, and beliefs that attribute the ultimate influence on anything other than Allah are forbidden. For this reason, it is not permissible to wear ‘evil-eye’ amulets and similar things around the neck or anywhere for the purpose of benefiting from them." Belief in the evil eye is found in the Islamic doctrine, based upon the statement of Prophet Muhammad, "The influence of an evil eye is a fact..." [Sahih Muslim, Book 26, Number 5427].

In his statement, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said the Chinese authorities in Xinjiang had committed crimes against humanity, including arbitrary imprisonment, forced sterilization, torture, forced labor, and "draconian restrictions" on freedom of religion, expression, and movement. Following Biden's August 2020 campaign statement with the same declaration, the Trump administration's finding is the strongest rebuke of China's actions by any government so far. 13-Year-Old Nigerian Boy Jailed for Blasphemy Wins Appeal

A 13-year-old Nigerian sentenced to 10 years imprisonment for blasphemy is finally free as he wins his appeal in Kano state. In August 2020, Omar Farouq was convicted in a Sharia court in Kano State of northwestern Nigeria, after being accused of using foul language about Allah while arguing with a friend. Though only 13 years old, Farouq was tried as an adult because he has attained puberty and has full responsibility under Islamic law. The Sharia court's ruling last year sparked international Condemnation. The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) condemned the boy's 10-year prison sentence. He was released after five months of incarceration with no access to family or lawyers. The 13-year-old teenager's parents disassociated themselves from him because of the shame caused by the case, according to the boy’s lawyer, Mr. Alapinni. Alapinni said Farouq’s mother fled to another nearby town after his arrest because the mobs descended on their home. “Everyone here is scared to speak and living under fear of reprisal attacks,” he added.

In December 2020, a 16-year-old boy was constrained under Singapore’s Internal Security Act (ISA) for "detailed plans and preparations to conduct terrorist attacks" on Muslims as they worshipped in two local Mosques, authorities reported on January 27th, 2021. The suspect was not identified because he is underage. The nameless Singaporean teenager is a Protestant Christian of Indian ethnicity. He is the youngest citizen to be investigated under the ISA for terrorism-related activities, the Internal Security Department (ISD) said in a media release. “He was self-radicalized, motivated by a strong antipathy towards Islam and a fascination with violence,” ISD said. “He had also watched Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) propaganda videos, and came to the erroneous conclusion that ISIS represented Islam and that Islam called on its followers to kill non-believers.” In preparation for the attack without firearms, the teen watched instructional YouTube videos until he was confident of hitting his victim’s arteries by slashing specific areas of the body. He planned to use a machete to carry out his attacks at the mosques on March 15th, the second anniversary of the 2019 terror attacks at two mosques in Christchurch, New Zealand.

On January 28th, the terrorist convicted (and later acquitted) of the 2002 abduction and beheading of Daniel Pearl, was ordered to be released by Pakistan’s Supreme Court. The court also dismissed an appeal of the killer’s, Ahmad Saeed Omar Sheikh, acquittal filed by Pearl’s family and the Pakistani government. American journalist, Daniel Pearl, was born in Princeton, New Jersey, to parents Judea and Ruth Pearl. Daniel and his wife settled in Mumbai, India, after becoming Southeast Asia’s bureau chief of The Wall Street Journal. They traveled to Karachi, Pakistan, which Daniel used as a base for reporting on the United States' War on Terrorism following the September 11th, 2001 attacks. Omar Sheikh was convicted of helping lure Pearl to a meeting in Karachi where he was kidnapped and later beheaded. Pearl was investigating the link between Richard Reid, the notorious “shoe bomber,” and Pakistani militants. In April 2020, a high court in Karachi overturned the convictions of three of the terrorists involved in the killing. It also reduced Sheikh's sentence to only seven years of incarceration, making him eligible for release based on time served. The court advised that the men "suffered irreparable harm and extreme prejudice" after 18 years in prison, then ordered all four to be set free.
