1. Dir Bhagyaraj, an actor and director, made a comment on rape. He said, "There were times when restrictions were imposed on women. No such crimes happened during those times. Only because women let it happen, such crimes (rape) happen. There is no point blaming only men. Women will kill husbands and kids for an affair.”

2. Comedian Louis C.K.'s comeback trail took him through Israel where he talked about how brutal the bright lights of New York City can be in a club outside Tel Aviv. He said, “I’d rather be in Auschwitz than New York City, I mean now, not when it was open." His paternal grandfather was Jewish. The Nazis exterminated more than a million people in the Auschwitz Concentration Camp in Poland before it was liberated in January 1945 by the Soviet Union. It has operated as a museum since 1947.

3. Elihu Rodriguez, pleaded guilty to raping two underage girls he met through Jehovah's Witness congregation. He was given five years and was ordered to register as a sex offender. His victims attended the sentencing. One of the victims said religious leaders put the blame on her.

4. Pope Francis urged people to resist the excesses of consumerism in the period leading up to Christmas, calling it a virus that attacks faith and offends the needy. He said, "When you live for things, things are never enough, greed grows, other people become obstacles in a race." He added that consumerism is a virus that corrodes faith because it makes people forget the brother who knocks at your door.

5. Peter Maurer, president of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), criticised Britain's policy of stripping the citizenship of people held in Syria after the fall of Islamic State. He told the Guardian that he "failed to see" how denying people their nationality would help a crisis made more complex by the recent Turkish invasion.

6. A new bill, HB 413, sponsored by nearly two dozen Republicans in the Ohio House, would take “all possible steps to preserve the life of the unborn child” including taking a (potentially fatal) ectopic pregnancy and reimplanting it into the woman’s uterus. Ohio’s move on ectopic pregnancies — where an embryo implants on the mother’s fallopian tube rather than her uterus rendering the pregnancy unviable — is one of the most extreme bills to date.

7. In interviews, Latino converts said they are drawn to Islam because of the intense devotion to God, a simplicity in faith and a focus on community that they failed to find in their former faith. But their conversion often is not easy, as they break ties with family and their Christian upbringing. Latino Muslim communities have found a home in mostly urban areas like New York City, Miami, Chicago, Los Angeles and Houston. Their backgrounds are diverse. About 56% converted from Catholicism and the rest from Protestant faiths or secular or atheist lives, according to the "Latino Muslims in the United States" report.

8. A group of girls knew exactly what to do when they heard their fifth-grade substitute teacher at Deerfield Elementary School in Utah castigate a classmate who said that, for Thanksgiving, he was most thankful that he was finally going to be adopted by my two dads.” The teacher launched into a 10-minute lecture on why “two men living together is a sin,” so the girls protested. Several times. When their efforts failed to deter the teacher, the three girls left the room to get the principal and the teacher was escorted unceremoniously out of the classroom.

9. A Christian propaganda was posted by the Ohio County 9Kentucky) Sheriff's Office, sending an implicit message to citizens that non-Christians are not welcome in the community because everyone working for the government apparently believes in one particular religion. The post was: Gracious Father in heaven , we humbly bow before you. May your everlasting mercy be upon our officers and first responders May they each find you as an ever present help in times of trouble. Guard and strengthen them as they serve the community. This we pray in Jesus name.. Amen

10. A 23-year-old alleged rape victim is fighting for her life after she was set on fire while going to court in northern India. The woman was on her way to a hearing in the case she filed against two men in March, in Uttar Pradesh state. She is in critical condition in hospital, where she is being treated for severe burns. Five men, including two of her alleged rapists have been arrested on suspicion of setting her on fire, police say. The woman was on her way to the train station when a group of men assaulted her and dragged her to a nearby field, where they set her on fire, according to reports in local media.
