A Houthi court has sentenced nine Yemeni men to death in a mass trial based on “dubious” charges of sodomy last March, which follows after the radical Shia Islamist group sentenced 13 men to death for homosexuality in February.

Thirteen people have been sentenced to public execution by a Houthi court on homosexual charges, while another 35 people have been imprisoned for similar accusations. The ruling came amidst an ongoing war between the United States and Houthis, who are backed by Iran.
Entisar al-Hammadi, a model, actress, and fashion influencer from Yemen, has been attacked and detained by plainclothes Houthi personnel on February 20th.
