A Texas megachurch believes so deeply in the promise of God that it is offering a complete refund to tithers if they do not experience it. Fellowship Church in Grapevine has introduced the 90-Day Challenge that assures its members, “if you tithe for 90 days and God doesn't hold true to his promise of blessings, we will refund 100% of your tithe.”

On its website the church says, “Each of us has a unique opportunity to be a part of the incredible life change happening around us at Fellowship Church by bringing our tithes and offerings to the house… If you are not tithing already, the 90-Day Challenge is the best place to start.”

The campaign is part of a church series called The Tipping Point, which pastor Ed Young describes as “the most provocative series of the year.” According to Fellowship Church, the series will teach Christians “what it takes to reach the tipping point in life God has given us ... [and how to] discover how one small change in our lives can cause unbelievable momentum that lasts forever.”

Fellowship Church is only one of the many churches to have launched the 90-Day Challenge that encourages churchgoers to contribute 10 percent of their income to charitable and religious causes. The other churches that have issued the challenge include Laurel Ridge Community Church, The Rock Church and NewSpring Church.

According to the yearly State of the Plate survey, approximately 10 million tithers in the United States donate more than $50 billion each year to charitable and religious causes, with 97 percent contributors offering their donations to a local church.
