13-Year-Old Nigerian Boy Jailed for Blasphemy Wins Appeal

A 13-year-old Nigerian sentenced to 10 years imprisonment for blasphemy is finally free as he wins his appeal in Kano state.

In August 2020, Omar Farouq was convicted in a Sharia court in Kano State of northwestern Nigeria, after being accused of using foul language about Allah while arguing with a friend.

Though only 13 years old, Farouq was tried as an adult because he has attained puberty and has full responsibility under Islamic law.

Man Claims Jesus Told Him To Cause Fatal Crash To Save Infant Son

On January 9, 2021, A Kentucky man with his infant son in his lap caused a fatal head-on collision while allegedly under the influence of alcohol.

The citation was filed by a Kentucky State Police trooper investigating the wreck, officer Jason Warinner.  The officer said the 30-year-old driver, Jesse Brown, reported that he heard Jesus tell him to steer into oncoming traffic if he wanted to save his infant son, Dalton.

Uighur people live in northwestern China's Xinjiang province and are mostly a Muslim minority group. In June, the Associated Press (AP) found that the Chinese government mandates inhumane birth control measures on ethnic minorities in Xinjiang.

According to the scholar Adrian Zenz, population growth in Xinjiang has declined dramatically in recent years. Growth rates in the two largest Uighur prefectures have fallen by 84% between 2015 and 2018 and continued further decline in 2019.
