"Christian tourist who went missing in Israeli desert may have had 'Jerusalem Syndrome' ...

I was vaugely aware of this as it was mentioned in a "Simpsons" episode ...... but had no idea it was a real thing .....

"Jerusalem syndrome is a group of mental phenomena involving the presence of either religiously themed obsessive ideas, delusions or other psychosis-like experiences that are triggered by a visit to the city of Jerusalem."

He seems to have mental

He seems to have mental health issues.

Mind you, they're all mad in Northern Ireland. You would think that humanism and atheism would be embraced after the crazy "troubles" but no. The humanist organisations have only a few hundred members while the two tribes maintain their faith schools that have done so very much to entrench sectarianism. I have read that the political parties there now depend on the sectarian schools and vice versa.

Lovely description of the Jerusalem Syndrome right here...http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2016/03/26/jerusalem-syndrome-the-madnes...

Loved the quote: "As J.E. Hanauer, a British traveller and Anglican vicar, wrote in around 1870: “It is an odd fact that many Americans who arrive at Jerusalem are either lunatics or lose their mind thereafter.”

Bears out your point there Mykcob!
