Howdy-do, Frost. Nice of you

Howdy-do, Frost. Nice of you to join us. You say you don't bite, huh? Well, you might want to grow some fangs around here. Or at least go get some sharp dentures.... *chuckle*... (Hang around long enough and you'll understand.... *grin*...) Anyway, much to see and do around here, and we have a pretty good crew of regulars. Always room for one more, though. So come on in, look around the place, and make yourself at home. Be mindful of a banana peel on the bathroom doorknob, though. It means Cog is in there, and you DO NOT want to go in there when he is in there.

Welcome Frost, from sunny South Australia, where it is raining again. It's winter. I think we've already had our year's average rainfall of 21 inches,

Glad you don't bite. Neither do most of the people here. However, some here eat christian apologists for breakfast. .

Please jump in. Perhaps post a reply to a post in a topic on which you have an opinion, or start your own thread. I for one am interested in learning about your thoughts and opinions.

"Well, hello there young lady. You are new around here aren't you? Um, you didn't happen to bring a rolling pin with you, did you? .... Oh never mind that for now. I just seem to have an attachment to them lately and White is torturing my by withholding hers. ..... but I diverge...... Welcome to the forums. I'm sure you will find plenty to "debate".

Cheers!

Taking bets now! Personally, my money is on White. Frost says she "doesn't bite", but we KNOW White does.... *sudden look of realization*.... Heeeey.... Wait a sec.... Bite?..... Frost?..... *scratching head*... Frost?..... Bite?.... *scrunching brow*.... Something there.... Ummmm.... *tapping chin with index finger*.... bite.... uh, frost.... umm, frost... frost-frost-frost.... and bite... Grrr... *shaking head in frustration*... Dammit! There's a connection there, I just KNOW it! But I can't quite figure it out! Arrrrg!.... *throwing hands up in defeat*...

Oh well, anyway, like I said, I'm rootin' for White. No way she's just gonna lay dormant and let her chum-... uh, her chimp get hijacked from her. Frost better grow some fangs, especially if White brings out the rolling pin.

Mine too, and I've belonged to a LOT of atheist forums. Partly because one finds a higher class of insult*** here and the site is well moderated.

*** the lowest rate of ad hominem attacks I've seen on any forum .Various apologists we get tend to get their panties all out of focus.

Welcome Frost:

Welcome Frost:

I'm an ancient Briton currently living in Queensland Australia but preparing to move back to my adopted homeland of New Zealand. I've been an atheist for at least 50 years, and I'm the husband, father, father-in-law, and grandfather of a whole tribe of atheists. We don't say grace much in our house.

Hi Folks,

Hi Folks,

Another newbie here. Be nice. I've a weak heart and no soul whatsoever. Unlike Frost I do bite. Well, gently.

Looking forward to chatting with all you nice folks here.

Bite if you like, as long as you understand you may be bitten back.

There are some very interesting and erudite people here. Very few 'nice '(boring) ones.

@Cranky Re: "There are some very interesting and erudite people here."

Don't know what erudite means, so I'm not sure whether to be flattered or insulted. Hang on. Let me check something... *accessing Google*.... Okaaaaay.... Let's seeeee....

"having or showing great knowledge or learning."

HEY!!!....*eyes narrowing in building anger*... That better not have been directed at ME, asshole! I'm fine with being "interesting", but I won't take kindly to being called a smartass.

Edit to add: Oh, hey there, Hume. Welcome to the AR. Good having you with us.

Here in Oz, words such as "academic" and "intellectual" are still used regularly used as insults by the hoi polloi .

Seeing as you are an inverse snob nonpareil , you may wish to choose to be insulted.

@Cranky Re: "Seeing as you are an inverse snob nonpareil..."

Oooooooo... *grinning*... So you are saying I am inwardly just a flat disc of chocolate covered with sugar sprinkles?... *nodding head in pleasant agreement*.... Yes, I do have to admit I have felt that way at times.... *look of thoughtful reflection*...

Yeah, it is definitely a bit quirky, but eventually you get use to it and then it isn't all that bad.

You're welcome.

I hope you are pleasantly surprised by the more subtle forms of insult rather than the crude ad hominem attacks found on most other forums.
