I haven't been posting here for the past while because I haven't had any reason to write about anything, but on June 25th (1 week ago) my great Grandma Dottie died of lukemia at the age of 94.
After the funeral everyone went through her house to get her stuff, and I got to see old photos and documents she kept. Among those is a document from 1898, from the US Army, to her grandfather, Albert Ritter, notifying him he had been discharged from the Army. As it turns out he was one of the soldiers who chased chief Joseph to Canada.
Anyway, I thought it was interesting- she was basically a walking talking history book, and her house was a museum. This Lady lived through the Great Depression, and her husband, George Poppin, fought in WW2. Her mom was born in 1894, and died not too long ago in 1995.
If you really think about it, all this happened not too long ago- just in the 90s Emily Ritter, born in the 1800s, was walking around. And when you consider this on a large scale, even myckob4 actually isn't that old.
