And geographically the North/South divide opens wider, this time on religious grounds in the US. A direct correlation between the quality of secular education and the wider populations adherence to religion can be drawn, and eerily they mimic the old Secessionist demarcation in the US.
Obviously human memories despite literacy and the study of history are fallible. It seems the US is heading for a greater conflict than in the 19th Century if the divisive utterings of the GOP are anything to go by.
