I believe in given out the proper punishment for this kind of despicable behavior. I`m not defending any clergy who has participated in these kinds of lewd behavior. All I`m saying that its not proper to hate, To want to kill these people of the cloth. Where would we be as a society if everybody felt that it was proper to harm a person or group of person because they weren`t treated properly. We would have total anarchy here. as for lawyers in my country you have the right to have a lawyer your innocent into proven guilty. A lot of so called abused people got on the band wagon because there was money to be made here. it was money all along that was driving these accusations of clergy sexual abuse.

I f you don`t think it was about getting publicity and settling lawsuits for an terrific amount of money then you are ignorant of the human situation and behavior. you know darn well it was about the press around the world who are hostile to the church`s no matter catholic or protestant how they would like to destroy the lords church, And as for the money that is the human condition to get without earning it it is happening in every part of the world as we now discuss this. Once upon a time, I read a journal article published by some at Duke Medical Center, Psychiatry Department and another one by the same department at the Mayo Clinic.
The study was performed on a multitude of pedophiles, rapists, and other sex criminals to see if they could be rehabilitated.
Guess what their findings were?
Pedophiles and rapists could not be rehabilitated. Never!
In fact, the reports said there were only two things society could do with them:
1) Execute them, or
2) Lock them away for life.
If 2 was chosen, then it was suggested that there was to be no parole of any kind.
As Tin Man has suggested, my choice would be execution. Just get rid of them and society never has to worry about them ever again.

I think the start of your thread "once upon a time" sums it up. There have been many studies into rape and peadophelia. The two things are not the same.

There are many rapists who have done their time and not offended again.
In peadophelia there are distinct categories the predatory multi offender ( like Catholic priests) is at the worst end of the scale and, yes it is unlikely to be able to rehabilitate into society without constant supervison. At the other end of the scale there is the familial offender which seldom if ever re-offend. There are also the diagnosed Mentally Ill offenders and that may be the study you are thinking of.
If you want to make a study without making sweeping statements that are inaccurate and third hand opinion take a degree in behavioural and clinical psyche and spend a few years in a hard offender prison running sex offender courses.
As can be seen by my expressed opinions here, I abhor and condemn the sexual treatment of children by their elders but I am not going to judge anyone worthy of death at my hand until we have a perfect system of justice.

That's very true. There are also many many pedophiles who never touch children. They are burdened with terrible urges but manage to control themselves. I think they deserve sympathy and help.
It's only the people who put their urges into action who need to be punished or quarantined, especially the priestly ones.

Its the little things that count...
For all the hand wringing and ribbon hiding the inability of catholic administrators to identify potential moral problems within schools continues.
A statute of 16th century St Martin de Porres, canonised for his service to the poor was erected at Blackfriars Priory School in Adelaide. It depicts him handing bread to a child.
"The design looked fine on paper" the school said. It was approved by the schools executive team.
"Did no-one look at the design first?" someone tweeted.
The photo says it all. If the same care taken to commission statues for their schools applies to selecting those who are to care and cater for their children, what hope?
The statue was immediately covered and later removed AFTER it was installed!!!!!!! <-- enough marks?
Two former teachers at Blackfriars have been jailed for child sex abuse over the past 12 years.
