On July 20, in the district of Jalore, Rajasthan, a Dalit (Lower-Caste) student studying in the third grade drank from a pot of water that allegedly belonged to an upper caste school teacher. This made the teacher so furious that he thrashed the child and needed to be hospitalized. On August 13, the boy succumbed to his injuries. The incident has caused societal and political turmoil in India.
Militants fired at two civilians, both members of the minority Kashmiri Pandit Community, in Chotipora village of the Shopian district, where one died and another was injured. Police believe it to be another case of targeted killings in Jammu & Kashmir last week.

The "Flood Jihad" conspiracy claims that the Muslim community of Assam is responsible for the disastrous floods the state has seen in the past months. At least five Muslim men were accused and arrested as the conspiracy theory became viral on social media platforms.
"Shiksha Jihad," or the Jihad on education, has become an issue in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh. Florets International School, an English Medium Co-ed Institute, is at the center of the controversy. Parents and Pro-Hindu groups have registered a case against the private school. The school is accused of spreading Islamic teachings through its daily prayers.
Indian police have arrested two people in Kasganj, Uttar Pradesh, for allegedly framing a Muslim man in a case of "love jihad." The two men hired a Delhi woman to falsely accuse an innocent man of rape. One of the accused was identified as the district vice-president of a BJP youth wing organization.
An 18-year-old man died in Karnataka, India, after members of Hindutva brutally assaulted him.
The death of a Muslim teenager, identified as B. Masood, happened on July 21, two days after the assault transpired in the southwestern region of India. Reportedly, the incident stemmed from an argument Masood had about purchasing a three-month-old calf.
A group of men was booked with an FIR on July 15 after a video of them praying inside a mall went viral. The group was allegedly praying without authorization.

In Karnataka, India, a Hindu youth pretending to be Muslim posted a series of obscene posts on a fake social media profile insulting the Goddess Cauvery and the women of Kodagu. The police officials have arrested the suspect.
Arun Yadav, an IT cell in charge of the Haryana unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party, was removed from his post on July 7. The party has not provided any apparent reason. It is speculated that the party expelled Yadav because of a controversial tweet that he made against Islam in 2017. There was an online campaign on Twitter that demanded that Arun should be arrested for his controversial statements.
On July 3rd, in Sambhal, Uttar Pradesh, the owner of a restaurant, Talib Hussain, was taken into police custody for allegedly hurting the religious sentiments of the Hindu community by wrapping chicken dishes in old newspapers which contained the images of Hindu deities.
Locals that claim they saw him doing this had complained to the police.
An FIR was lodged by the senior sub-inspector, Ajay Kumar Tyagi, which stated that Talib Hussain was deliberately doing this to hurt the religious sentiments of the Hindus.
