So, I've seen a lot of anger on this site about the existence of God and it kind of reminds me of that well-known Shakespearian "scripture", paraphrased of course, as "Thou doth protesteth too much".
However, in these somewhat more modern times it has also occurred to me to ask, "Why are there so many angry and biased politicians and politicos on the scene today...?" Whether you are watching Fox News or CNN, the spin is endless and the agenda is truly insidious.
In other words, it's like "I AM A DEMOCRAT AND HATE DONALD TRUMP, SO EVERYTHING AND EVERYONE WHO OPPOSES MY VIEW IS EVIL AND JUST PLAIN WRONG..." or...
"I AM A CONSERVATIVE AND KNOW MORE ABOUT THIS AND THAT ISSUE, AND THEREFORE YOUR FACTUAL OBSERVATIONS ARE NOTHING MORE THAN A MERE CONSPIRACY THEORY" - kind of attitude. Sometime these supposed 'experts' and learned pundits are even reduced to shouting over one another in support of whatever drivel they are routinely spouting.
In my opinion, what is wrong with people today is their bias. It runs so deep, and is so seethingly running out of their pores that they can't even see straight.
Many people who don't believe in God or even do believe in God are like the mindless sheep who refuse to actually think about the arguments or issues before they render judgement or cast their vote...in this presidential Election as well as this metiphorical election we call "Life".
After all, what could be more important while you're worrying about if Hillary Clinton has pneumonia or if Trump has a man-crush on Vladimir Putin. Grow up, man up, take a stand, but whatever you do stop being an angry little troll and bashing God. I tell you when you do that, your agenda is not to find the Truth, but to peddle it's hapless little cousins of fear, foolishness, and intellectual fakery.

Many many times we atheist have painstakingly tried to be civil, but in return, we get nonsense and insults thrown in our faces. I have NO tolerance for it anymore. I for one am through with granting the benefit of the doubt to people that come on forums such as these and pretend to have a legitimate argument only to find out that they use it as a platform to proselytize and rant and rave.
All you have to do, all that any of you believers have to do, is give REAL empirical evidence of a god or anything that supports your arguments.
The fact is that you don't want to discuss issues, won't answer legitimate questions, won't listen to reason, won't pay the slightest attention to facts. You want to lecture and proselytize. For the umpteenth time. Evolution isn't a theory any longer. It is a proven fact. DNA has proved it beyond scrutiny.
As far as thinking critically, that is that hallmark of the thought process of atheist. It is what all atheist have in common. we don't indulge in blind faith. All believers HAVE to have blind faith because scrutiny of any faith comes down to having blind faith due to the lack of evidence.
Oh really? Then please kindly explain to us how DNA has proved the Theory of Evolution beyond scrutiny. I would genuinely love to hear it....

We can trace DNA from the most complicated creature to the simplest. We all share the base DNA. As we evolved the base DNA remains and more and different DNA appears.

Evolution is a highly complex, controversial, and convoluted subject, so I'll just try to keep it simple and humbly ask 2 questions:
First, where are all the transitional lifeforms...THOUSANDS UPON THOUSANDS UPON THOUSANDS OF FOSSILS, AND NO TRANSITIONAL LIFEFORMS?!
2. Second, if all life on earth has so much DNA in common and came from a single lifeform, THEN WHY DO WE ONLY SEE LIFEFORMS PRODUCED AND REPRODUCED ACCORDING TO THEIR OWN *KINDS, AND NOT INTERBREEDING TO CREATE NEW LIFEFORMS?? Ever heard of ligers and tigons? Zebroids? Groups of animals get separated by geological events or rising sea levels, and each group starts to go its own way genetically until they are totally different species and no longer able to interbreed. I think we've reached that stage with the other great apes, but felines and equines still seem to be able to interbreed, and maybe sheep and goats (geeps?).
Every species is transitional, and every species is complete and finished in its own right. We are no exception, though we mayt be the first species to evolve through intelligent design. We will edit genetic defects out of our genome and maybe add in genes to make us more intelligent and longer-lived. "O brave new world, that has such people in 't!"

When have politics and political journalism ever been an edifying spectacle? I've observed elections in four countries since the 1960s. It's always been a rung lower than reality TV on the intellectual ladder.
Atheists are angry because... That's an interesting question for 9/11. Religious lunatics are still killing and destroying at random throughout the world. Atheists are still being flogged, beaten, tortured and killed in several Mideast countries, priests are still molesting children, babies and small children are still being multilated in the name of god, American voters still seem to be prejudiced against non-religious candidates, god-botherers are still trying to infiltrate school boards to get evolution replaced with creationism in school curricula, even in developed Western countries, governments seem to think that religious leaders (elected by god?) have opinions that are more valuable than everbody else's....
Those are some of the reasons why I'm angry. Now tell me why you aren't angry?

Which atheists? I never heard that suggestion before. Getting rid of smallpox and polio won't free us from all disease, but it's a step in the right direction. Religion is in the same category. When (not if) it's gone, there will still be loons and control freaks, but we can at least shut down the biggest factory producing those defectives.

That is a biased and prejudice anti-propaganda image of Atheism.
It would be like saying "All Christians are pro slavery, anti Jew, anti homosexuals, anti science, anti sex-ed, anti vaccination, anti abortion, thinks that the Bible was literally written by God and think it's perfectly reasonable that Jesus would be white and blue eyed."
While it's probably true in some cases, this would be an insult to most Christians.
