The passages quoted here and in the OP by Dio and others give us some insight as to why the early christians were so despised in Rome during the mid to late 1st and early second centuries. Not only did they spurn the Roman duty to sacrifice to the Emperor as a god but they were accused of baby stealing, cannibalism, forced mutilation and other horrors.
Christians react in horror when they read of these accusations in Tacitus and other Roman writers. "not us they say, no we are the religion of love...." " those poor christians, just having communion and being good jews, obeying the Law", they say...
Ironically all these practises as Dio and others have found, are actually in the 'holy' book and are practised in circumcision and the eucharist to this day.
Many Romans studied the Torah, it was a popular study in the early 1st century as it claimed to be the oldest religion and the synagogues in Rome and elsewhere were often packed with curious Romans eager to hear the history of this strange people. The Jews were even granted an immunity from sacrificing to the Emperor, a privilege extended to the Early Christians (as they were, without exception jews). This was rescinded after the Great Fire, then re instated some years later, but did not include (after the second ban) gentile christian converts

Fact: ALL early christians were circumcised...they were jews, only later when the Paulines were in numbers did that edict cease to apply to non jews. One had to be jewish and observe ALL the laws before you could be a christian. Read some books.
Circumcision is still practised by many gentile sects today. Go read something.
I made it clear that the later Roman writings that depicted christians as baby eaters are based on your own biblical stories. When you witness a circumcision and see the priest kiss the baby's cocklet to cleanse it of blood you can see where the rumours started back in the 1st century.
Do some reading you arrogant arse. History is available for those who drag their sanctimonious heads out of their fantasy books.
That the Roman mob would use that as an excuse to have a few of those people thrown to the wild dogs is not surprising (See Tacitus).
You don't even know that the Hellenic and Roman vision of man was that it was a perfect creation. They could not get their heads around the jewish and early christian desire to lop off their foreskins, hence, whoever Paul was, decided to drop that requirement...despite being declared apostate by the original jewish christians.

You seem to be confusing the Jewish religion with the Christian religion. You do realize they are not the same, right?
Yes, Jews still practice circumcision, Christians do not. The Jewish law was that all the men had to be circumcised, as to show they are of the chosen people and to illustrate their covenant with God. Like you mention, after Christ was crucified, there were of course some disagreements on whether circumcision was still required. During the First Ecumenical Council, it was decided that Baptism replaced circumcision, signifying the new covenant. Jews still circumcise because they do not have baptism. So maybe you are right, early Christians did circumcise, but who cares? The point is Christianity, as it stands today, does not practice it.

You understand that you could not be a christian without being a Jew? That the Messiah was ONLY to the jews and only much later was to the gentiles, AS WELL?
Gentiles did not outnumber the Jewish christian sects until well after the Diaspora and sack of the Temple in 70CE. The mission to the gentiles did not gather any real traction until the practice of circumcision and the adherence to Jewish Law was dropped as a requirement. Read some books.
You seem to think that christianity was a homogeneous beast right from the beginning. You are sadly mistaken. Early christianity especially in the 2nd century CE, was a mass of sects, texts and oral traditions both Jewish, Gentile, Syriac (Arab) Hellenic and Roman. Some were Adoptionists, many were Gnosts, a few were Imperial but that did not get traction until the late 3rd and early 4th Century CE. The content of the gospels( and they were all anonymous except Thomas) varied , we know that Luke and Matthew did not have the birth narrative included, we know that Matthew was specific about the human parentage of the jesus figure. All this is researchable and you will find to be factual.
So dont be less than humble when you talk to me about historical fact. I deal in facts not wishful thinking and error filled 'tradition'.

This is the trouble with theists is all they all claim to know the truth, but they can never agree what it is, and not one of them can demonstrate any objective evidence for their beliefs or for any deity.

A Religious Person actually believes science to be true and views the Bible/Qu'ran as basically a fairy tale, excepting the very few true truths it does hold. Additionally, some Religious Persons only use the Bible for spiritual fulfillment and do not believe in an all-powerful, all-knowing, creator being.
