Necronomicon welcome to the forum.

You should start a new topic and put this introduction there.

This topic is related to "The dark side of Theism".

Not to be rude but without order there is only chaos.

First of all, thank you very much. For me, it's honor to be here. And thanks for the advice Leone, no rude for sure :)

I apologize if I was offtopic. But the topic is excellent and it reminded me of some of the dark side of which I was exposed. Of course, this is not a story about me, more about them, this is supposed to be the point. I apologize once again if it turns out personally :)

Let's move on :D

Personally, I welcome your

Personally, I welcome your post. (Not to diminish the point Jeff makes about of keeping posts to the subject in hand)

I would urge more people to chime in on this subject and personal experiences only gives more credence to the subject.

Jeff Vella Leone's picture
No need to apologize, I was

No need to apologize, I was just letting you know about it and also let know other people reading this to put their first intro post in a new topic, and yes you are welcome to insert your personal experience here and any topic.

But if you want to introduce yourself to people on the forum, you should first make your own topic and then you can repeat most of the things here if you wish.

This usually shortens the length of posts and gets people more to the point which in the end benefits everybody reading it.

I have actually been a victim

I have actually been a victim of this once, when i was 11. Up until that point, my father had not done anything to me, as I had given him no reason to and had done nothing to raise suspicion. It was about this time, however, that I began becoming interested in atheism. Then I made the biggest mistake in all of my short 16 years of life: I told my father. Then, courtesy of religious zeolotisum (is that even a word?) I was locked in a basement area of our house. I was left in there for 2 weeks (this was during summer) with only water (this is the reason why I no longer hound myself for being chubby) After this period of time, my father took me out, beat me with a stick, and then tried to shoot me. Seem a bit extream? Just wait, it gets better. I ran out the door, hoping to make it to the house of the police officer that lived down the street. I got up on his porch, just in time to see him walk out the door with tazer in hand. I smiled. It was short lived, as he pointed the tazer at ME. Then, I was thrown into the basement for an amount of time I couldn't keep track of. Ironicly, it was because of my grandfather (who is a priest) that I finally got out of there. Form how my grandmother described it, when he found out about what was going on, he wasn't happy. Fast forward 24 house and my dad and the police officer are in police custody, and I am now living with my mom. Fast forward to present.

Holy fuken shit

Holy fuken shit

My dad was an asshole but compared to yours he was a good father.

I am sorry for what happened to you, this is one of the effects of a brainwashing cult.

It creates insane people that do not even know what love is in some cases.

What would you expect from members of a cult that worship an asshole father for beating and crucifying an innocent son for the mistakes of others?

Thank you for your sympathy.

Thank you for your sympathy. Often people think I'm lying because of how outrageus it sounds. The Scar from a bullet to the leg begs to differ.

You are welcome.

You are welcome.

"Often people think I'm lying"
To be honest, that is the first thing that crossed my mind, but after analyzing your post and where you placed it(in "The dark side of Theism" ) I calculated that it was probably the truth.

I try to put myself deeply in the perspective of others and it helps me understand their feelings while writing things, it helps me detect spammers, trolls and give probability of the truth on claims.

I do sympathize with you a lot because my father was not a good father figure and with his egoism he did hurt our family for many years.

Look at your scar as the moment where your atheism confession saved you from many years of mental abuse and probably worse situations.
Trust me it could have been worse if you were an adult.

I was 22 when the situation escalated to the point of me and my father were nearly going into a fight to the death.
It did not happen because my father was smart enough to realize how well prepared I was for it legally.

So you can look at it as a kind of blessing in a way.

There are people who were not as lucky as we were to be able to have a life after having a fucked up childhood.

This kind of horrific abuse

This kind of horrific abuse is a large part of why I have been posting about faith based abuse here.

As you said, it sounds so outrageous that it's hard to believe. On the other hand, there little reason to doubt your story.

I have read about many other cases that sound like scripts from lousy horror moves. Children kept naked in cages, or in chicken coops, sexual / mental / physical abuse, punishment by starvation, beating, burning or hypothermia (sometimes with a deadly outcome).

EDIT:
I hope you have received/are receiving all the help or support you need to get your life on track.

"A lesbian Mormon teenager

"A lesbian Mormon teenager was forced to wear a backpack full of stones for 18 hours a day as part of an effort to make her straight, she reveals in a new book.
When Alex Cooper, now 21, came out to her Mormon parents in 2009 at the age of 15, they first kicked her out, then decided they were going to "fix" her.
They took her to the home of fellow Mormons Tiana and Johnny Siale in St. George, Utah, where Cooper was subject to eight months of captivity and torture, according to her book, Saving Alex."
