Please note the last but one sentence where Billy claimed the late Christopher Hitchens deserved to die of cancer. I brushed off his ad hominem attacks aimed at me, but that odious vile claim deserves an apology and retraction. This then is the type of man we are dealing with.

I concur of course, but that is another matter, Billy has made an appalling claim implying that CH deserved to die of cancer, and I think he owes an apology, and should retract the claim. If not then that says something about the kind of person he is. I encourage everyone to call him on this, tempers can get heated, and insults even exchanged, and this is not the way to conduct ourselves, but this claim goes beyond what is acceptable.

I'm not sure the Hitch said Falwell deserved to die did he? I seem to remember he said it was one of the rare occasions where he (Hitch) wished hell was real so that Falwell would be there, as he deserved it. However none of this justifies Billy's claim, to suggest someone deserved to die of cancer is unconscionable, and I think he owes an apology for it, and I have a long memory for such things.

Apologise lol. I don't condone the comment, but it does require an impressive amount of sensitivity to be offended by it and make a post demanding an apology. I don't even care about half the things ppl say about Jesus on here and I think He's divine. The day I ask an atheist for an apology, is the day I completely lost confidence in my position.

heck, Mel Gibson had the effrontery to call the snuffish film THE PASSION OF THE CHRIST. a friend of mine who used to be religious saw it; he described it as a two-hour beat-down (his words exactly). yet Gibson's sick religion sees it as "passion."

"Passion" is originally a Latin word meaning "suffering" (note the related words "passive", "patient"). Modern usage of the word drifted away from that, but the old traditional expression "Passion of Christ" got "fossilized" as such.

I think William Lane Craig is a despicable human being and a profiteer of people's gullibility and need for comforting answers. But I would never celebrate WLC dying of cancer, (if he were to die of cancer,) and say he deserved it directly to his supporters.
If he was not trolling and was serious, "faith in god" needs some help in learning basic compassion for others, and may currently be a dangerous person to others with having so little empathy and compassion to other humans.

all of these things that i have related about Mother Teresa are FACTS that can be verified. witnesses yet live who can substantiate what might seem like inhumane claims. Stephen King, in all his writings, never imagined a human being as devoid of humanity as this woman. she consumed suffering, fed on misery, exulted in despair. these were the notes that gave song to her being.

i counted myself incredibly fortunate, every day that i woke up, knowing that Hitch lived yet, to be on the same planet, at the same time, as him -- and this was even before his illness was known. it was a privilege to have lived in the Time of Hitchens. it's the same way i would have felt about Socrates, had i lived in Athens c. 410 b.c.e. (and been male, and not a slave but a citizen).
