It is a mix of the "atheist professor" urban legend, the ridiculous framing of Christians as being persecuted (in a society where they dominate), and reinforcing the ridiculous myth that atheists hate god.
But you cannot hate God. Correct?
Okay. but paying attention to the entire atheists that were seated as the "jury". The students were atheists, but did not hate God. So, technically, we did not stereotype ALL atheists in this movie. The only one that has been pointed out to be a stereotype of how you atheists think ALL theists view atheists is the professor. What about the rest?
It is a work of fiction, but your suggestion that the students were atheists is quite troublesome... They were bullied by the professor into signing the document...
I haven't seen it yet but so far I heard unlikable opinions about it. I will watch it soon.

Possibly, but it has made more than the movie Noah which completely messes up the entire story.
The amt of $ it's made doesn't mean it's a quality film.
It made a lot of money because it strokes the egos of christians. Noah was a really good movie in my opinon. The movie Noah was not intended to be an accurate depiction of the events in the Bible. In fact, the writer/director/producer is an atheist, and didn't try to hide the fact that the movie was only based on the Bible, but the story was much improved to make it entertaining.
But it was supposed to be that. The directors and creators of that movie did it in their point of view not based on what the Bible actually says.
It is a terrible movie. Not just because the arguments are bad and because it is full of false stereotypes. It is just not a good movie. I actually wrote an essay on it for my Christian mom who asked me to look at the arguments from the movie because she thought they made good points. I wouldn't mind posting it if anybody was interested in reading it.

It was completely biased, suprise suprise, I haven't actually sat down and watched the whole thing, but seen the highlights and got the just of it. Kevin Sorbo's character is a complete stereotype of what Christians claim Non Theist are like. Which is completely obscured to make us look like ignorant asses. His character was more of a butthurt Christian that is mad at God for his misfortunes. Pretty much like Mel Gibson in "Signs". It is my belief they used an ignorant depiction of an atheist because they can not argue with a real one with logical reasoning. So In other words the made up a test dummy to punch around.
Never saw the movie, saw a trailer and didn't think it was worth time or money.
But to answer your question, Atheists cannot hate god. If someone says they are an atheist but shows hate for a god they obviously do not understand what atheism is.
We just take a good look around, look behind a bush or two, underneath a rock, and say "no god, oh well." And we don't need to have a completely provable explanation for life and the universe and physics to simply claim that we do not think there is a god.

What was you mother's response to the paper? It is very well done, imo.
She never responded to it. I think she did read it, but she has told us before she knows she isn't smart enough to be able to discuss it with us. She is a wonderful, humble woman, so I don't want to press her to argue. It was my mother in law, but the way. I don't remember if I said that, because I call her mom too. My mom would definitely have argued lol.
I really liked the end of your paper, I was just reading elsewhere on the site where someone was asking where atheist get their morals from and I think your paper had an interesting perspective and should probably be posted over there as well. Some people sya we get are morals form societal acceptances of right, wrong and punishment, I personally while i do think this is true to some degree think we also get them from not being sociopaths and knowing how to relate to what people would feel as well as our own feelings on any given topic. For example, sometimes there is no law to tells not to do something but still we won't do it because it may make other uncomfortable in some way ranging form minor inconvenience to serious threat and or loss.
How could you hate a being who doesn't even exist? That's certainly pointless.
To those who believe that there is no God, how does one simply use science to explain that we have 7 days of the week. In Genesis it simply states that God created everything in 6 days and on the 7TH DAY He rested. A scientist does not merely make up random names and say "oh look we have 7 names and these names will be used to make what we shall call, a week." no it didnt happen like that

But that simply states THE NAMING OF THE DAYS and not how the seven days came to be itself. In Genesis Chapter 1 Verse 5 all the way through Chapter 2 Verse 3 its explains what happened through those days and the 7th day which us Christians know it as "The Sabath Day" which we keep Holy, God rested from all the work and creation and He looked at it all and saw that all was good. How does science explain, not the names of the days of the week, but the amount of days the week has.

It has to do with the moon, it was created much before Christianity or the Jewish religion.
We are talking before Abraham which was a Sumerian.
I always knew that the days of the week were related to the zodiac in some way but never bothered to look it up.

If you read, it says the origin of the names, not the origin of the week itself
