Hypothetically, who would you worship? God or Satan?

One thing you may come across is the notion that all humans without 'worship' something in their life they just don't realise they're doing it. However once whatever or whoever it was you 'worshipped' is gone you will fall into a CRIPPLING despair and eventual suicide. Kind similar to what this video covers here, it's the 'Unyielding Despair' of atheism, the 'belief that there is no God'. Worldview or whatever, but that's what he means anyway. He believes there are essentially 5 'worldviews' the 1st is atheism (the 'belief that there is no God') and the 5th and final (and best/true) one is Christianity.

If you worship only God (Jesus is the same thing) however you will always have that life sustaining faith regardless of whatever life throws your way. It's like fortifying yourself clad in the armour of the Holy Christ. Invulnerable.
But it's not to late for you to lose your 'belief in atheism' and accept the eternal non-conditional love of God into your darkened stone cold amoral emotionless heart of suffering and death and eternal obli...Ah I'm getting a little bit carried away there. *cough* >_>
Stopped at the title of the video: Athiesm[sic] - unyeilding[sic] despair.
@Dark One
"However once whatever or whoever it was you 'worshipped' is gone you will fall into a CRIPPLING despair and eventual suicide."
Which is a concept I absolutely reject.
We humans suffer through this process regularly, yet we survive. Maybe it was not an entity classified as a 'god", but loved ones, rock stars, media personalities that great numbers of people feel a terrific loss when they die, those people move on. A very dear and close friend I have known intimately since 1975 was a major Jimi Hendrix fan, it can be stated with confidence he worshiped the man. Jimi died in 1970 and my friend did miss him, but he carried on.
I can take this one step further. Approximately 2005 I finally realized I was an atheist, the prospect of a god was very remote. Since then I have endured facing death, and suffered through major health issues. Yet my outlook on life is exactly the opposite of despair. Life is good, I am a walking optimism factory. I bring cheer in the darkest of days to anyone and everyone.
I too went through a health crisis & was full of despair, but through it all God was with me. I prayed and prayed and He got me through it. But it was interesting as I felt satan pulling at me too. he's the master of deception and manipulation. Satan kept trying to put doubt in my head---"Does God REALLY love you?" Why is He making you go through this?" God is clear to us--there will be no shortage of pain & trials in this life, but this world will one day be no more, and the pain and suffering will also be no more if we choose His righteous path.
@Kate
So the doctors, nurses, and medication had nothing to do with your recovery?
@Kate
"I prayed and prayed and He got me through it"
Counting the hits and ignoring the misses.
How many times do you pray? Did you pray for a family member who passed away? Guess what, those prayers were not answered. If you took the time to document every time you prayed, and registered when they came true, you would discover that the greater percentage of your prayers failed.
You need to understand that God our creator knows so much more (infinitely more) than we do. Of course we don't always get what we want when we pray and don't always understand why things happen as they do, but God knows what's best for us and if we look to Him He will never steer us wrong.
@Kate
I am sorry, but that is a pathetic cop-out.
First point ... you claim to know a lot of your god's qualities.
Second point ... when pressed on difficult questions, you hide behind the "god is a mystery" excuse.
"Of course we don't always get what we want when we pray and don't always understand why things happen as they do"
Then why pray? Your god knows everything, and will do unexpected stuff. What you are describing is a volatile and inconsistent being with zero compassion or consideration for us humans.
Here is a hypothetical example ... a father unexpectedly beats one of his children to death, no one knows why. Do you think that a defense of your lame excuse "we do not know why he does what he does, but he does it for us" would hold up in a court of law, no less than the police investigation?
In summation, I see this failed tactic used by many theists. They have no problem spending hours extolling their god and describing the qualities and personality of this god. But ask those same people "then why do children die of cancer?", they quickly fall back on "god works in mysterious ways".
Understand this, you either have a basic understanding of your god, or you do not. Shoveling bullshit in here doesn't go far. Because in the great majority of your posts you have extolled the quality and virtue of your god. But when someone holds your feet to the fire, you don't seem to know shit about your god.
@Kate
So why does god answer prayers very well in line with statistical expected normals of everyday life, regardless of prayer?
You do realize prayer does absolutely nothing but make yourself feel good right? Beyond the placebo effect along with optimism, prayer is essentially just lying to yourself by talking to a completely invisible, (undetectable,) wizard that you lie to yourself to think it exist and will "help take care of you."
Honestly I am fine with people praying, (lying to themselves,) to feel better. But the religion that comes with it? Religion is a net negative concept, it is (in my opinion) a big part holds us back from greater things as a human race.
Anyone with half a brain would realize when someone prays for you, it is the same thing as saying "we will think of you" and really just lie to ourselves about it, to make ourselves feel better and feel like we did something even though we are unable and/or unwilling to help.

I looked at it as “who would you rather hang out, have a beer with.” No need for worshipping. But the music puts Satan over the top!
Even when I used to believe in that God, I did not believe worship was necessary.
I am not one who likes getting biblical because there are too many interpretations and few agreements.
Here is one of my views that, just like any other, merits debate... the Devil poses as God in some parts of the books.
No one should be worshiped above or below the skies.
TBH our culture/s is full of worship from famous sports stars, movie stars, people in the music and modelling industries, presidents and royalty. They all get their share of adulation from the masses. It's not something people are consciously aware of as worship but it's much the same thing. It's not just famous people but items of technology, mobile phones may as well be items of adoration. Worship can be to deeply revere anything or anyone.
So, scientists have statistics on how many people God and the devil killed.
What do you know!!!
Hahaha, Really, human stupidity can reachy unfathomable depths.
@Fergie
The figures are from your despicable 'holy' book you muppet. No science needed, just comprehension. A skill you lack, like you lacked the ability to finish at University.
Oh I absolutely concur, your posts after all are ample testament to this fact. For example one can look at your truly asinine claim that science is required to count the number of deaths caused by the deity and Satan in the bible. Christ but your posts are stupid, can it really be accidental? Dear oh dear...
ferguson1951: RE, "Really, human stupidity can reachy unfathomable depths."
Um.... "Reach" does not have a 'y' on the end of it but good job getting 'unfathomable' correct. It clearly demonstrates that the spell check on your computer is working correctly. That means you had to put some extra effort into the word "reachy" just to get it past the spell check program.
Anyway, moving right along, I would like to thank you for stating the obvious. You have assisted each and every person on this site to become blatantly aware of the unfathomable depths of human stupidity. I think it is fair to say that each and every one of us has experience an expansion past the realm which we once thought was the lower limit. With that said, we are certainly all very curious to see how much lower your idiotic posts can take us. I, for one, am wondering if there is a category in the Guinness Book of Records that can cover your unique talent for the unfathomable. Thank you Mr. Obvious.
'So, scientists have statistics on how many people God and the devil killed.'
Science has discovered that Voldemort from Harry Potter killed more than the two combined.
'Sadly, Voldemort claimed more innocent lives than we'll probably ever know. Many wizards and goblins were slaughtered during his rage at Gringotts and at least two anonymous people were killed for Horcruxes – a Muggle tramp for the locket and an Albanian peasant for the diadem.'
They had a scientific council of the finest minds to determine the real number of people killed by the real life Voldemort who is a real entity in actual reality because he's in a book. That's the kind of thing scientists are working on, not developing a new drug that cures cancer or something boring like that.
@ferguson1951
"So, scientists have statistics on how many people God and the devil killed."
Actually, it was not science that revealed such numbers, it was done by people you respect and use for reference, biblical scholars. All they had to do was read the bible and count ......
David said:
“All they had to do was read the bible and count ......”
Which is a skill even Ferguson has - assuming he isn’t asking his mother to solve those skill testing questions at the bottom of each post.
To the question. I think “admire” is the most appropriate term.
Also, let’s be serious. The Devil has killed THOUSANDS over the five thousand years this universe has existed.
It is his very mission to cause men and women to meet with death and destruction.
God simply sends people to Hell.
So, in conclusion - I “admire” the Devil - for his tenacity - his tact - and his taste.
@Fergidiot,
"Really, human stupidity can reachy unfathomable depths."
DING, DING, DING.
And in the category of irony overload, the nominees are:
Feguson1951
Fergmeister
Fergturd
Fergidiot
Fergmoron
….and the winner is:
ALL OF THE ABOVE!!!!
I wouldn't worship either of them.
I worship no one. But for hanging out and having a beer it's hands down Lucifer. He's definitely got swag. I wrote a story about the Garden of Eden from Satan's point of view- a comedy. It's title is Inna Gadda da Vida in homage to the Butterfly. Check it out at curtisstories.blog.
Nature creates its own music and it is partly responsible for giving mankind the idea to create its own.
How Lucifer gets credit for giving us great music and using that as a reason to hang out with is beyond me.
It's a shame Lucifer or the Shining One/Light-Bringer doesn't exist though, he would be getting my devotion for sure. He was the Roman/Greek god of Enlightenment. That's exactly the kind of thing we need more of in our dark superstitious world of voodoo woo, witch doctors, snake oil salesmen and mumbo jumbo merchants.
You get all that business with all these different hats as well, there has to be some kind of a special hat that someone who has some kind of involvement in some supernatural goings on has to wear because....some reason. Mormons have a special pair of underwear instead because there's always someone who likes to be different.
[sarcasm]Wow, a Satan worshiper![/sarcasm]
If I had to pick, Satan.
Why?
Well, I think Jim Jefferies got it spot on, when he said...
"The bible, that’s god's book, as far as I know the devil hasn’t brought out a book yet, haven’t heard his side of the argument. God’s just writing shit about him, and the devil’s being the bigger man and saying I’m not even going to comment, talking shit about me like that".
The Brazilian Devil in the video is embedded in man!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bt8bykbJl5A
How to prove that this Brazilian devil does not exist?
@Ricardo
Have not understood previous posts? YET AGAIN ; It is up to the believers to prove their claim that demons exist , in principle and specifically. You need prove nothing.
Because a thing has not been proved to be false DOES NOT MEAN IT IS TRUE
PLEASE read the quote below and visit the web page linked. :
"Russell's teapot is an analogy, formulated by the philosopher Bertrand Russell (1872–1970), to illustrate that the philosophic burden of proof lies upon a person making unfalsifiable claims, rather than shifting the burden of disproof to others.
Russell specifically applied his analogy in the context of religion.[1] He wrote that if he were to assert, without offering proof, that a teapot, too small to be seen by telescopes, orbits the Sun somewhere in space between the Earth and Mars, he could not expect anyone to believe him solely because his assertion could not be proven wrong.
Russell's teapot is still invoked in discussions concerning the existence of God, and has had influence in various fields and media."

A god with the attributes the saner Jews Christians and Muslims claim for YHWH would not require worship .
If god could not protect me from evil and suffering , (what satan does best) . I might feel obliged to worship satan.
Umm, but wait, I really can't see that YHWH* as EVER done anything to protect Stevo Sixpack and his l bride Chantelle from any suffering or evil
*Each of the three Abrahamic religions worship the same God.
(((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((9)))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))
Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent.
Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent.
Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil?
Is he neither able nor willing? Then why call him God?”

@Kate:
RE: "You need to understand that God our creator." What in the world makes you think anything called a God created anything. You have any evidence at all for this claim.
RE: knows so much more (infinitely more) than we do. Once you provide evidence for the first claim, please provide evidence for the second claim. If god knows so much more than us, why didn't Jesus know about the germ theory of disease? "It's not what goes into your mouth that defiles you; you are defiled by the words that come out of your mouth.” English Standard Version Matthew 15:11. Obviously God does not know much. There is nothing in the Bible that a first century sheep herder could not have come up with. How does this make God smart?
Re: Right, we get what we want when we pray. Hey, there is a whole thread on this one. Enjoy the read.....
We'll I can't find it... Anyway - Prayer Does Not Work. It has been tested over and over and over. There is nothing special about praying. All you are doing is talking to the wind. You should be talking to Todd. The invisible poster here on AR./
