Jesus is not God

My theistic friends told me that I have to believe in God! do you know why ?
why Jesus believed in God! that the mistake of atheists is to think that Jesus and God are the same thing! and that Jesus was an envoy of God and that Jesus is not God!

The Ginormous Invisible Blue Universe Creating Bunny sent his favorite pet iguana to pay the ultimate price for Man's sins. He died on the Holy Campfire Spit to pay for our sins. His love for us (and carrots) is more or less eternal, and we should seek Easter Eggs through our blessed Fuzzy Savior. The Blue Bunny loves you.... and carrots. (He REALLY loves carrots.)

If you don't believe me, it is clearly written in the ancient Sacred Scrolls of Bunny Tales. The book of First Peter Cottontail, chapter 4, verse 1.

It's very nice that you have your faith. However, this is an atheists forum. That means that most of the people here don't believe in gods .

It may not have occurred to you , that most of the members here are former believers . Some probably have a far greater knowledge of scripture than you.

IF you want us to share your belief, please stop preaching and provide some proof for the existence of your god. If you are unable to do so, that makes you appear to be just another arrogant and condescending theist trying to convert the misguided atheists. It's really quite tedious you know.

So this all-powerful and all-seeing being that created everything and knows what happens and will happen screwed up, and decided to perform a blood sacrifice to obligate all humanity in something they are not guilty of?

Jesus paid the ultimate price? I call bullshit. I concede that he is immortal (he never really "died", he just had a bad weekend), but paying the ultimate price is to be separated from god for eternity, to inhabit hell. But your jesus did not pay the ultimate price, he now sits on the right hand of god.

Remember this: the ultimate price for a christian is to be separated from god for eternity, which is to be in hell.

Don't listen to Cog and his "Yellow Banana" nonsense. It is all a LIE! Do not allow yourself to slip on any of the nasty rotten banana peels he leaves scattered about the forum. For the love of all things blue and fuzzy, DO NOT STRAY FROM THE BUNNY TRAIL!

Hokum superstitious nonsense of course. However were it true,, it would not be for me, anyone demanding a blood sacrifice of any kind, let alone torture can fuck right off, and that includes deities, fictional or otherwise. I find the concept of vicarious redemption utterly contemptible. As of course should any decent human being...

No offence intended....I just despise hypocrisy, like claiming a deity is love, whilst simultaneously claiming it required the torture and murdered of it's own son to appease its anger over the eating of some fictional fucking fruit...ffs...

How do you prove god or jesus is real? What objective evidence do you have?

The bible is the claim, not the evidence.

Trust something that condones

Trust something that condones slavery, condones killing children, and by all reckoning, has been directly responsible for the deaths of 24 million humans?

God does not condone any of

God does not condone any of the evil that goes on in the world today. This is man's doing, and being influenced by satan and the forces of evil. Sure, God could've made us all like robots & force us to go His way, but to me that's one of the great things about Him---he wants us to choose which path we take. I choose His way! Please seek His word today!

"God does not condone any of the evil that goes on in the world today"

I am sorry, but the bible is rife with instructions from your god on how to own slaves, instructions to murder children, many other foul horrors.

https://rationalwiki.org/wiki/Slavery_in_the_Bible

What you are doing is picking and choosing what makes you feel good, and denying what you don't like. You look at the bible from just one perspective and turn a blind eye to the entirely of the bible. But that comes as no surprise. The bible is the greatest multiple choice book ever. From approximately 1200 pages there are over 33,00 different interpretations and sects.

@Kate????

@Kate????
My bullshit detector just went off. Perhaps you can help. YOU SAID......

1. "We can do NOTHING without God. (Then you said....)
2. "God does not condone any of the evil that goes on in the world today. "

Why wouldn't god condone his own actions? You mean God does shit and then he hates himself for the shit he does? You say, "This is man's doing" but "man does nothing without God." Who is this Satan person you are speaking of and where did he come from? If Satan is influencing me, shouldn't god be pissed at Satan and not me. Obviously if I had a choice I would not be influenced by Satan. I would not be influenced by anyone. One more question. If we can do nothing without God, how is Satan sneaking in there and influencing us? Obviously if we are doing things we are doing them with God. So, does God just ignore Satan during this influencing process? What you are saying does not make mooch sense. How can we "choose" a path when Satan influences us? You are not making any sense.

Kate "God does not condone

Kate "God does not condone any of the evil that goes on in the world today."

Well there is no objective evidence any deity exists, but if you're referring to the biblical deity, then you're talking nonsense, as it condones such evil throughout the bible, again and again.

"Sure, God could've made us all like robots & force us to go His way,"

So you don't follow his commandments then? Now me I go my own way, it's the religious who are amoral automatons.

"that's one of the great things about Him---he wants us to choose which path we take. "

So he is fine with me pointing out there is zero evidence for his existence, but were he real and as described in the bible or koran he would be an immoral repugnant sadistic bully?

Good to know I have a choice with zero consequences, most theists threaten my choices with fictional fantasies about an eternity of torture....

@Kate: RE: Apart from Christ we can do nothing.
Well hell girl. Why didn't you say that before. If we can kill this Christ guy we can eliminate war, murder, rape, child molestation, and everything else people do.

RE: I trust in God with all my heart and soul.
Ummmm.... hearts pump blood. Trust is something you do with your brain. Your post is anatomically incorrect. Just letting you know.

So what is this "soul" thing you are talking about? You trust with it? What in the hell does that mean?

God is love??? A logical impossibility. It is impossible for god to be god and not god. A is A. So either God is god and Love is love or you have made an error in logic. The law of noncontradiction asserts A can not be B. God can not be love. He might be loving but he can not be love. We already have a word for love. "Love." The law of excluded middle says "God is either God or he is not God. There is no other alternative. So is God, God? If you say "Yes" he can not be "LOVE." After all "Love" is "Love" is love.

No offence Kate, but either engage in debate, or fuck off and find a pulpit to preach from, I despise being preached to.

Start by demonstrating some objective evidence for any deity.

Well, son... of... a-... *hands on hips*... That sneaky little bastard! My apologis to you, Cog. You were right. Todd can't be trusted. Just found several rolls of electrical tape in MY pockets, and both my shoes were filled with taped up hamsters. Damn that Todd! He is now trying to frame ME!... *shaking head in disappointment*... And I'm still trying to figure out how the hell he managed to get all the tape in my pockets, because I haven't taken off this jacket in over a week! I wonder if Todd had any of his imaginary friends helping him... *scratching chin*... I'm sorry I doubted you, FAVC... *secret fist bump*...

But we all must remember that

But we all must remember that God is infallible!

I mean, his great idea was to have his son die on a cross for man's sins.

And yet, centuries of battles, wars, world wars, nuclear bombs, murdering, paedophilia (cheers Catholicism), killing our own planet etc.... we're still cracking on with being total wankers!

Well, I don't know about guys... but I'd say this God dude, is a bit of a thick fucker.

Don't forget that the Jesus epic was Plan B. God's first attempt at a final solution was to flood the entire world. And none of that would have been necessary if he hadn't put the smart-fruit tree and the talking snake in the Garden of Eden in the first place.

I wonder what he'll try next.

Next time he will put a banana tree next to a fountain of magic Nutella. On a remote island in the Pacific Ocean, and we will have to send twelve tributes who will battle to death, like in Hunger Games...

To make your questions a bit

To make your questions a bit easier to address, it would help If you could identify, broadly, you theist friends. The belief that Jesus was not God is the position taken by Judaism and Islam .The belief that Jesus IS god is the position taken by mainstream Christianity. .

The trinity of Father, Son (Jesus ) and Holy Spirit is one of the basic and most incomprehensible beliefs of mainstream Christianity .

Last night myself and two drunk friends called up a christian missionary organization. The conversation went like this:

Hello?
Hey there, I have a questions for you.
Yes, I will try to answer.
Do you save young girls?
Yes, we do.
Great, save three for us, we will be over in an hour.
