I was born "Jewish. Every Passover "we" celebrate Moses "freeing" the Jews from Slavery from Egypt. God sent plagues upon Egypt in order to "force" the Pharaoh to "Let my people go". God was creative in his administering the plagues. 1st plague-water into blood..2nd plagues-frogs--3rd plague-gnats of lice--4th plague-flies..5th plague-livestock diseased--6th plague-boils--7th plague-thunder and hail--8th plague-locusts--9th plague-darkness-----Nothing God did would force the Pharaoh to allow the Jews to be free from slavery. Finally God got very frustrated and sent the ANGEL OF DEATH TO KILL all Egyptian male first born including BABIES.. That was too much for the pharaoh and finally Moses "marched" the Jews from slavery. The "moral" of the story is the "goodness" of God to free the Jews from slavery... This story is passed on from generation to generation. The ritual is celebrated and besides the Matzo there is plenty of food and family "joy". The youngest male asks the four questions reminding us Jews about the story of Passover.. GOD SENT THE ANGEL OF DEATH TO KILL ALL FIRST BORN EQYPTIAN BABIES. The story of Passover instead of showing Gods mercy--revealed the horror and evil and immorality of GOD. WHY--HOW COME= the youngest male child ask the 5th question... WHY would a just, good, moral, loving God send the ANGEL OF DEATH TO KILL Egyptian babies.

I found the discussion in this article really thought-provoking, especially the perspectives on symbolic interpretations. By the way, if you're into deep, emotional themes like this, the wallpapers at https://fondospantallahd.com/ perfectly capture that mood, definitely worth checking out.
